    Blizzard isn't going to a free to play model on WoW. They would lose millions of dollars, and no company is going to willingly do that.

    WOW makes about a billion dollars a year, there is no way they are going F2P for at least 5 years or more. The one thing people need to understand is that it is as much about predictability as income. Blizzard knows very closely how much WOW is going to be pulling in in 6 months. They are able to hire staff based on those numbers. F2p games that rely on cash-shops are very up and down... if something is a bomb in the cash-shop, it would put pressure on the devs to fire people.
