5/10...??? Eh?? Its a great llittle film... just perfect pacing, great interaction between the characters. Probably Carpenter's second best film score..
Ok, the acting may be a little off, but this was made on a very low budget, so its a cast of tv actors, students etc.
Cerberus, you need to watch the big budget soulless piece of sh*t that was the Hollywood remake of this, and you will appreciate just how good it is.

Whether this was made on a very low budget or not has got bugger all to do with the performances. It is an interesting and entertaining watch but by no means is it a masterpiece. However, just because I given it a 5/10 doensn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I did, but it's not the type of film that I will watch regularly.
And for the love of science, don't remind me of the bloody terrible remake. I'd have to check my imdb list but I believe I gave it a 1/10 if I recall correctly. But I'm not the type of man that will suddenly think of the original as the best movie ever just because the modern remake was a bag o' shite.

Just finished watching Prometheus. Good movie but I have so many questions!

P.s did anyone notice that when the suv in taken two flips over you can clearly see the plates the stunt crew welded to the bottom to make it slide smoothly over the other car? It kinda bugged me how obvious it looked.

All Quiet On The Western Front

It was alright I guess, my favourite bit was when one of the Germans killed all the enemies coming at him with a shovel :')

    Chernobyl Diaries

Fairly entertaining but ultimately stupid, unscary and by the numbers.

    3.5/10

    Garden State

A very sweet, genuinely funny and witty - if a bit pretentious - romantic comedy. This isn't my first time seeing it as I own the dvd but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it again.

    Resident Evil: Retribution

Nice special-effects and action but no real story or something like that. Surely disapointing, especially for a Resident Evil fan like me but it was quite entertaining though.

All Paul W.S. Anderson cares about is that his wife's ass looks great on-screen and in 3D!

She has been married to The Fifth Element director (Luc Besson) as well for two years although they did not have a child... Maybe it's just a director/actress crush, maybe not? Either way, it's all Hollywood business as usual.
EDIT: I may have posted this in the pointless thread but I'll post it again here. The lads from RedLetterMedia have watched all Resident Evil movies in a row in preparation for their review of the new one: Part I & part II. Poor sods.

    The Blob (1988)

Can't get enough of this one. If you're looking for a fun, gory & balls-to-the-walls 80's horror flick for Halloween, look no further!

    7.5/10

~ fun facts: after this, Chuck Russell went on to direct The Mask but even before The Blob, he directed the highly entertaining A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.

    Keoma

A truly epic spaghetti western. Although different to Leone's films (which most people hear about), and the first few minutes of it are ripped straight from Django, it is still a badass film.

    The Keep

I had a hard time making sense out of this one because this movie is batshit insane. Even more so is the fact that Michael Mann directed it. Yes, the same guy that directed Heat, Ali, Collateral and Public Enemies among others.

    6/10, I suppose.

    After Hours

It's tough choosing a favourite Scorsese flick but, personally, I think this is it for me. Interesting, funny, witty, well-written, well-paced, well-acted, ...

Currently watching mirrors, it's alright but not particularly scary... Same ol' sh*t really.

EDIT: Finished watching it last night, the only good thing I can say about the film is that the ending isn't exactly a happily ever after one.

just watched last night 'the Chernobyl Diaries'. well, what can I say? ripping ideas off Stalker, and not even trying to do it properly. good for a laugh, and also for 'idiots, you deserve whatever happens to you, for being such a bunch of morons' type of thing.

Watched The Skeleton Key, supposed to be a horror thriller. There's no horror.
