The Colony. Very Metro-ish feel to it, although it is a B-Movie. Do yourself the favor.

    The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Great movie, better than the first one IMO. It's not really the type of movie that I'd easily be impressed by, but impressed I was. Definitely worth the watch.

  8. I watched After Earth and it was horrible.

Gravity: not that bad but nothing to get excited about either.

I also watched Gravity recently. Very wellmade, and I was holding tightly onto the chair during the end of the movie, really immersive. But as Nuclear said, not really anything to get that excited over.

Russians seem to be the only ones to be creating some kind of problem(s) in movie plots nowadays.

Oh man, that made me laugh because it's so true!
In Stargate, every freaking single time there's something wrong with a satellite, or a reason they can't put up satellites, it's always the god damn russians!

Pretty classic trope. Whenever any group of any sort of nationality is depicted as an enemy, shit always blows up (GRAW2 got flak for its in-game involvement in Mexico, Battlefield got controversy for having you kill Chinese soldiers; hell, EA even made the Warfighter team rename the Taliban as multiplayer enemies in the latest MOH game). But, due to what I'm guessing is a bit of leftover Cold War fears and Russians in general not seeming to give too much of a shit (at least from what we hear over hear), Russians seem to oddly be okay as enemies, as long as they're some kind of extremist group or something.

I don't even remember hearing that big of a deal being made over "No Russian" in MW2 (I remember seeing one or two guys on Reddit who said they were Russian and that most people didn't really care all that much). The only real controversy I've heard of involving the portrayal of Russians was Company of Heroes 2, although from what I understand, that's a pretty sensitive point in History.

    Black Hawk Down.
A very good movie. Not extremely, just very. It didn't really have a very interesting plot, but I guess that's what you get when the movie is based on a real event. But I loved the African urban look to it, and the standard typical 'merican soldiers in there, showing off some real strategy and warfare. It was very actionful, maybe a bit too much. Pretty violent to, with the guy sticking his fist into a guy's leg, and some other guy getting chopped in half so you see the red meat and flesh on his waist just hang and dangle in the air as two other soldiers carries him away, alive...
