The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I enjoyed it - loved the atmosphere and it did not have the pacing problem of 'An Unexpected Journey'.

Carrie. Enjoyed it, watched it twice. Despite of the bad reviews it's pretty good adaptation of King's novel and definately better than De Palma's Carrie.

Went back in this thread to look for suggestions for a good movie. Someone wrote about The Grey, and I've seen it highlighted on Netflix for a while now, so I decided to watch it.

Very good movie. Not much to say about it except some guys crash in an airplane in some snowy mountains and try to make it back home whilst chased by wolves. Exciting and scary, and you really get attached to some of the characters eventually.
It's a 'small' movie, though. It lacks epicness and a strong plot. Being a small movie, I'd give it 7/10. But compared to all movies I've seen so far, 6/10.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie. It made a powerful influence on me, "and for every death I could feel a needle in my heart", as Artyom would've said it himself ;)

    Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit.

Entertaining Tom Clancy with a few laugh out loud moments. Didn't like how all the Russians were evil, though. Typical American stereotyping..

The best part was we all had to leave the theatre as a 6.3 earthquake hit. Exciting stuff lol

Great movie, one of my favourites. I love the whole religious background to it :)
It's difficult to notice, but Eli was blind at the end of the movie. If you look closely enough in the whole movie, you'll notice that he always was blind. Yet he managed to kill so many people and do everything he did. It's a 100% religious movie, actually.

Ah,come on! It's obvious from the start that ELi is blind if you look carefuly enough at how he reacts to his surroundings.

    Zero Population Growth
If you've seen the movie, Children of Men, then all I would have to say to you that this movie is very similar to it, just that it was made in 1972. The movie takes place in a dystopian society where humans have over populated the Earth and the Authority steps in by passing a law sating that anyone caught having a child during a 30 year period or having a unregistered child after the law has been passed, will have them executed, publicly. I won't say anymore that might ruin the movie, that is if you decide to watch it. This movie is slow and there is hardly any action; But if you are interested in watching old dystopian movies (such as Soylent Green) and would like to watch a movie that I believe that Children of Men off of, then watch this movie.

Two great zombie/rabid perople movies right here! I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but a while back, Aaron or Skaara posted a metro 2033 trailer (supposedly the original) saying something that the trailer is as good as the game, or something like that; anyway the music from the trailer is taken from 28 days and weeks later. If you've seen the movie and view the metro trailer, I think the music adds more of an eerie effect. Here's the trailer :D:

Last movies I saw was Red Scorpion with Dolph Lundgren (AKA the best Expendable :D), and The Day of the triffids.

I actually went to watch 28 days later after hearing that song on the video because I wanted to find out where it was from. The one problem I found with the story was that (Spoiler Alert) the British army were evil in quite an exaggerating way because dr who gave some reasons I agreed with for what he was doing

    (Spoilers of 28 days later)
I don't remember the details too well, but I thought the 'evil British army went went well with what was happening. I mean, it wasn't the entire British army who was evil, it was only that squad that had the crazy captain who practically wanted to repopulate the earth with only the two women; right? Correct me if I'm wrong, as if I had not seen the movie in about five years. But in 28 weeks later, the British army is seen as the nice guys as they house and protect the citizens in the outpost outside of the infected zone. They only turn a bit crazy when the outbreak happens and civilians are running rampant down bellow the sniper's vantage point with rabid zombie people. In a situation like that, it made sense that they were ordered to shoot at whoever they saw because it was almost impossible to distinguish between rabid and a normal person.

Still great movies though. I jumped a bit out of my seat when, in 28 days later, the guy who was from the hospital woke up and turned on a candle inside of the boarded up house to get something from the kitchen and then.... evil rabid zombie person appears out of nowhere!!

  19. A prequel videogame was decent and scary.

Help, I can't find it! I've only been able to find a comic book prequel and a 28 weeks later online flash game that sucks.
