I don't think Monster is that good, really. I like Burn better.

The last thing I bought was a pair of Military-grade Fingerless gloves, hopefully they'll stay alright and not get torn to pieces by nothing like the earlier ones I've had. I was going to an amusement park with roller-coasters with my girlfriend yesterday, and on the way, I had to wait for the train for a little while so I went to a shopping center where I found an Army Shop!

I've been looking for Cargo pants for a very long time after my favorite clothes-shop stopped selling them. This Army Shop had a whole shitload of them, in three different adjustable sizes, five or six different camo-colors, four different regular colors, and either stone-washed or not stone-washed. It was like cloth-shop-heaven after all these months of searching. I've almost only been wearing the same old black ragged faded cargo-pants until that day. Unfortunately, I could only afford one pair of pants, so quickly tried on a pair of pants in brown, which I bought.

When I got home, though, I noticed that the pants are actually way too big and baggy, which I don't like. And I also realized that they're not actually brown; they're this uglyish brown-green color. I already have a pair of cargo-pants in the exact same colors, but the old pair actually fits me a lot better as they're not so baggy. What a damn let-down :(

One on my arm, one on my leg and one on my..... other limb.
No, but seriously, those watches are so rediculously cheap that they'll probably break before they even get here. And they all look so damn awesome, so I'll have an awesome watch even when my awesome watch break! Great plan, eh? :D

I suggest the Siberia headset, not really sure wether I should suggest the V1 or V2, I guess that's personal preference.

They're very comfortable. Wearing regular headsets, my ears would hurt after half an hour, but with this headset, my ears rarely hurt slightly after a whole day of gaming. I can't say anything about the sound because I haven't tried out that many other headsets, but I can tell you that the retractable microphone in it is perfect, very good. All my friends in Teamspeak and Skype says that they don't know if I am still on the mic when we are playing because they hear no background noise at all, not even my breathing, and my voice is very clear.

The V1 has micro-fiber covers around the ears, which are very comfy but they don't block out any sound from the outside world. I find that convenient, actually.
The V2 has leather-covers around the ears, the covers are also a little more buffed up, and the space for your ears is a little smaller, but that makes the headset sit better on your head. The V1 would sort of hang on your ears because it was a little big in the ear-space, and the V1 doesn't have a mic I believe. They're only 66 euro I believe.

I actually have that right now, and have had it for a couple of years. But now they've started to worn out, and isn't as comfy anymore :c
The thing with the mic is that it doesn't replicate my voice as good as I want. One of my friends told new it sounds more high pitched than normal. Thanks anyway :D

Someone at my school has a watch just like this. :D
Here is the watch that I got from the inspiration of Artyom's:

Unfortunately, the crown of the watch snapped off due to a stupid store shelf (it happened when I rested my arm on it, and somehow a bit of metal from the shelf got between the crown and the actual watch and snapped off when I took my arm the shelf. How does that happen?) and now I can't wind it up anymore (it’s not a battery operated watch). So now I just wear a broken watch that is stuck at 7:05 because it feels weird not wearing it. At least I have the right time twice a day. :p

    These ones

They are good, and was pretty cheap: ~55€. They are not too comfy in the long run though, and if you have glasses I recommend something else.

Does that mean you own a Mosin? :O I'll be buying one when I get my hunter's license so I'm very interested to hear the experiences of an owner. I still do not think I will be using it for hunting, though. Big and clunky :eek:hwell:

Yes, I do e a Mosin for hunting. :) You've got to know what you are doing though. While it is big , it is actually very well balanced and quick to shoulder. Do not chamber a round until you are ready to shoot as the safety is a pain in the ass to engage.

Look for soft point / hunting ammo as the majority of stuff out there is milsurp full metal jacket which is cheaper and bought in bulk, but has corrosive primers that will corrode your barrel if you do not clean it out with window cleaning fluid (or anything with ammonia) as soon as you get back from the range. This ammo will also penetrate too much and not expand enough for hunting and is more likely to result in an inhumane kill if your shot placement isn't perfect so its good for the range and competitions only.

Definitely do not let it's size and weight deter you. Young ladies and teenagers were using them very successfully on Nazis in WWII. No offence to the Americans reading this, but the majority of complaints you see online about its recoil come from pussies who never learn correct posture because they only fire AR-15s. Also, google Simo Hayha for inspiration. That Mosin sniper was five feet tall. Think of the size and weight as going into well-nigh indestructible construction that would cost you ten times as much in terms of build material if the rifle was built today.

Being old milsurp, they can vary individually in performance. If you like, you can stay in touch with me and I can guide you in picking a good one.

^ I had always wanted a Mosin. Like Darkbringer said earlier, I'll be buying one when I can get (at least for me) a gun license; and as a future reference, can I also get in on your guide in picking a " good one" because I have heard that there a great deal of cheap “ my bb gun is better than this thing,” Mosins out there.

Two immediate things spring to mind - the first is that mosins are zeroed in out of the factory with the bayonets attached. You may or may not get a bayonet with your purchase, and it may or may not be the original bayonet. Shooting without the bayonet them changes the point of impact. But that is not a problem - you'll then need to adjust the front sights with a drift punch, or with a sight adjustment tool that can be bought on ebay. I adjusted mine with a small mallet and a sock wrapped around a small chisel! Furthermore, it might not be socially acceptable to stroll through the woods with a bayonet lol

The second is headspace. Its a bit hard for me to explain verbally, but look it up on youtube. Again, this is a simple manual adjustment you can do at home but I would preferably not have it being an issue from the beginning, particularly if its your first gun and want it to be a smooth and straightforward gun from the start. Ebay or your local militaria dealer will carry an authentic cleaning kit that contains a headspace guage, youtube will teach you how to use it. Always check headspace as this can be a safety issue.

You might like to look for one with matching serial numbers everywhere. This increases the likelihood that it would be accurate rather than a mix of parts that don't fit together 100% right. Force-matched...where a refurbisher replaces a part and then strikes out like this a replacement part's number and engraves a new one that matches the rest of the gun is OK in terms of accuracy/reliability, but it diminishes the value of the gun to a collector.

You'll also want to check if the crown of the barrel has been left intact or is counter-bored. An intact one would feel slightly convex as you run your finger over the edge, a counterbored one would feel like an inverted cone. This is a bit of a consideration in that counterboring was done to barrels that had been used a lot and were worn down at the muzzle. You might belong to two schools of thought here - on one hand you might think it indicates that the barrel was heavily used and could be losing accuracy, but on the other hand, an intact one could also mean a barrel that was heavily used and NOT refurbished. In an ideal world, you would want one that has been little used and not been counterbored. Check the bore and rifling for wear.

A lot of what I'm saying here is mentioned on http://62x54r.net/ , have a read. :)

No problem. :) Drakbringer and you can PM me anytime if you want any info on eastern bloc bolt action rifles. I collect them.

If I may be frank, a Mosin Nagant probably isn't the best choice for a beginner's first gun due to the variables that can affect its quality at the start and maintenance issues with corrosive ammo. Some gun shops may struggle to find you a long enough gun bag, cleaning rod or safe if you've bought one of the longer models. However I understand that it is cheap, appealing for Metro/Stalker fans and the initial difficulties can be overcome with some research that I think most people would have no trouble with. Once you know how to clean up after corrosive ammo or avoid it altogether, it becomes a ridiculously durable gun that would survive most things that will tear a modern hunting rifle apart. Many beginners are also recoil-shy and are likely to develop a flinch that is a very bad habit that is hard to kick if they start with a large calibre. There are lots of little Russian .22 LR rifles for shooting rabbits and groundhogs that can teach you good rifle handling at a fraction of the ammo cost.

If you like, PM me your email address and I can send over some original (English translated) Mosin Nagant manuals on my hard drive.

Big fat email sent. :) BTW, where are you from Nuclearwaste? I notice Darkbringer is from Denmark. He might actually be able to get better Mosins than most because he would be closer to Finland...Finnish or Fin-captured Mosin Nagants are considered the among very best around.
