Honestly I was expecting a pretty shitty car from your description but that one looks alright, certainly not 18 years old by the looks of it. We used to have a 2001 Toyota Avensis that we bought used in 2003, and that was a decent car too. We still have a Toyota, now it's a 2009 Avensis in diesel. Those machines are quite reliable, even if they are unimpressive ;)

It's not personally mine, it's my dad's, but I'm allowed to drive it to school. It occasionally has a leaky radiator and, for some reason, keeps leaking after it's been fixed. It has had its left rear-axle sheered of in the middle of the road (awesome), it has had teenagers drive by and paintball it, smash rocks through the windows, egg splatter, and not too long ago during the night time, it was hit in the rear by someone, only to leaving a small dent and a crushed tail pipe -which we fixed the next day- (the other person's car left behind a side view mirror, part of their car's headlight, a lot of broken glass, and some of the front bumper; no license plate was left, unfortunately, so they took off).

Last thing I bought was chewing gum, because I quit smoking this morning. Feeling extremely angry (nicotine withdrawal), it's quite interesting being angry at the entire world for nothing lol

Best of luck with that, I know it can be very hard to stop. Although I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, I know enough people who do.

Just look out for crazy drivers and good luck in your driving test! :D

Good luck, Von. I never smoked before, but I have gotten second hand smoking from concert halls and such (not that much though). Not too long ago, I bought a case of cigars from mexico thinking that they were legit Cubans. It turns out that they are counterfeit :D. Nonetheless, the main point of me buying them was because they looked cool and I wanted to have them as display so that I could feel like Clint Eastwood :p
I might try one, one of these days, but I'm not really tempted to. I just like the packaging and the way cigar/cigarettes looks. If I was born in the 50's though, or fought in the front lines of WWII, I believe that I would have smoked because it looked cool. Then they began to add all sorts of crap and meh.

I know the feeling, dude. I've heard stories of Chantix working wonders by simply taking the edge and the urge off for those people trying to quit. Good luck regardless, my friend.

So, my lovely cheap PSO-1 replica is arrived 2 days ago, it will be my christmas present from my parents :D. Firstly I was soo happy but soon after I almost got a heartattack. It turned out that the LED container is too big, so it isn't fit my gun. I had to take it off, which means it cannot be illuminated right now, I want to buy a smaller one, other replicas has smaller as I know, but I cannot find one yet, and to be honest it is not required yet.

Łomża, Dębowe and Żubr (the Ciemnozłoty variant, much better than the normal Żubr). On the other hand, my brother bought some French wine and two foreign beers. Delicious stuff. I'd love to get some vodka as well, but many of the stores in Britain are filled with the shittiest vodka one could find - most of it some British wannabe-Slavic stuff.

A sandwich my friend told me to get. It was like a beanie cap that had been boiled in water to remove all of the color -making it a beige color- then, it was stuffed with salad and some pastrami. It was alright, nothing to boast about. :/

A sword! :D
I was in Norway's capital yesterday to visit a store where I thought I'd maybe buy some stuff for my upcoming medieval costume. Sadly, they had no leather-armor, which is the look I'm going for, except Roman leather-armor but that's out of the question. I'm going techno-viking ;) But they had a lot of awesome stuff. Old military stuff, LOTR swords, real inoperable guns and a whole lotta other stuff. Really awesome store, but you can imagine everything was very expensive. I have found a lot of leather-armor on http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/ and it's reasonably priced too, but the shipping is so expensive to where I live that it ends up being a whole lot more expensive. And if that's not enough, I will then have to pay taxes for it or whatever when it comes to norway, and that's like 25% of the whole ammount of money that I'm paying for the armor and the shipping. All in all, it won't come cheap.

Anyway, about my sword. It cost me 3000 Nok, which is 407 USD or 327 Euro. The blade is 31 inches / 79cm, and the whole sword including the handle, is 38 inches / 96cm.

It's heavy considering it's a one-handed sword. The handle, including the butt and the handguards, is made of solid iron with leather on the handle, while the blade is made of steel.

The reason it was so expensive, was because of the amazing holster. The holster is the main attraction, which I think is alright since the sword is going to be inside of it the most of the time.

We'll start with the belt buckle. It's top quality leather, all of it. Even the way things've been attached together is awesome; it's tied with leather-bands, not with glue or metal rings.

This detail is really cool and makes the holster have a lot of character instead of just being a simple boring leather-holster. When the thin leather-strap from the belt buckle arrives at the holster itself, it splits in two halves. One goes skew down and around the holster, whilst the other goes straight forward across the holster. It's attached in the main leather-piece of the holster, then it comes back around and goes over itself after taking a swirl around the holster. It then proceeds to go skew down the holster just like the other half of the buckle-strap:

And here's the back side of it. What I find awesome is that you can adjust the holster up or down in the wide end of the belt that is attached to it, by using these two smaller halves of the buckle-strap. This means that if you have it on your hip, you can adjust how far up or down you want the handle to be. So those two halves do not only have a function, but they look good on there as well.

Back to the front side:

And a closer look at the butt of it:

On the top of it, there's been added a leather-band to enforce the flexible sides there:

It's difficult to pull the sword out, though and a little difficult to put it back in again. I think there's two layers of leather on the inside as well, to protect it againt rust and generally anything. Between the leather on the inside and the leather on the outside, there's curved wooden plates, making a whole hard structure to the holster.

As you can see in this picture, the belt is very long, so you can wear it in different ways. Forming an X with it on my chest so the sword is on the back looked good, but it made it difficult to pull out the sword out and put it back it, and the belt also bends quite a bit in a strange way. having the belt once around the waist and once over the right shoulder is a very good way to wear it, because you can at the same time then decide if you want it on your back or on your hip. And it stays in a firm position, and so does the holster. You can also just have the belt twice around the waist but that didn't give much stability, and the belt is too wide for skinny me to wear it like that. But with a lot of armor and stuff on, perhaps it'll work like that.

I had nobody to take a picture of me and it proved difficult to take a picture of myself with the big camera, so I used my phone. I also censored the blits because it's really annoying, even in a picture.

Also, this just arrived in the mail!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal...r-/371009025849?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123

And just bought a new pair of worker pants for when I get back to work after getting this bandage off, a new shirt, and a really thick worker's sweater polstered with white fur on the inside. I will never freeze in my car at morning anymore! :D

That's an awesome sword, Skaara. This reminds me of a few years ago when I was on holiday in Zakopane with the family, we went to a "starzyzna" bazar and there was a ton of old Soviet and PRL (Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa) stuff. There were even some things from the German occupation of Poland. Of course, much of this stuff could have been fake, but it felt very authentic. What really caught my eye back then was a set of Eastern Bloc hip flasks and... World War II period Soviet combat knives as well as Nazi ceremonial blades. The latter were very grandeur but also more ornamental, whilst the former looked much for fit for the job of killing someone but also much more bland. I would have bought one of each right there and then, however it would have been impossible to bring them to England with me so I didn't buy any in the end. :eek:hwell:

Very nice :D
I have a tape measure on my computer desk; so I literally pulled it out to the correct length of your sword and swung it while nodding in approval. And the leather work is quite nice too! I like how they did the "stitching" (I guess you could say) and it's not at all half-assed. I would feel cool just carrying that around :p. I doubt it, but the handle could be made out of stacked leather and it just seems like it's all solid iron. My machete and Ka-bar knife both have stacked leather as the handle (usually stacked atop of a metal rod or thin strip of metal to connect the handle with the actual blade). The purpose for this type of set up is to reduce the amount of vibrations from reaching your hand when you hit an object; that way, it won't hurt as much when you hit something solid. Like I said, I doubt the handle on your sword is like that, especially since like it does look like one, solid consecutive piece of iron; but the way to check it (just in case) is try to try and bend the handle back and forth (sort of like into a U and and upside down U (parabola) when the sword is laying down flat). Just don't do it supper hard. If it is stacked leather, you shouldn't need to force the handle very much to notice a slight "bending" and "snapping back" of the handle when you press on it.

One more thing: Just in case you ever start to see some surface oxidation on your sword (perhaps on very humid months) you can protect it by rubbing a very thin film of machine oil (usually very light oil) like a common brand such as 3-In-One oil. Other oils work, such as the kind you would use to lubricate the gears for a sewing machine. I don't recommend you use WD-40. And in case there is a lot of surface oxidation, you could always use some high-grit sandpaper (after a certain grit, it's recommended to use water with the sand paper as a sort of lubricant while sanding). The higher you go, the finer the finish on the sword will be. You can even go so high into polishing your sword that you would be able to see your own reflection. I've done it before and it's quite cool.

Andddddddddddddddd one more very last thing:  Nice car accessory. That reminds me of a movie that you might like:

@Bamul: I think that really sucks how you can't have knives like that in England. They should change laws. It's not like many people go around killing others with giant knives anyway.

Edit @Skaara: You can even use vegetable oil or even olive oil you you want. Something like neatsfoot oil my be better though, since the sword will be inside the leather sheathe and neatsfoot oil is good for leather. I usually just use machine oil though, but I think I will try neatsfoot next time and hope that it will not only protect the blade, but also the leather for whatever excess oil may rub off of the blade and onto the sheathe while holstered. Never thought of that until now.
