I see, thanks for the info :)

I'm thinking it'll be great for Arma3. I tried it at a friend's place with Arma3, and it seemed really awesome. I'm also thinking it can be really great with War Thunder. It would be awesome if it was compatible with GTA V, and I'm thinking it could work out pretty good too, but I doubt it's compatible though.

Anyway, I literally bought TrackIR like five minutes ago. It'll probably arrive around wednesday :) 2000Nok it cost me, that's a solid 260 USD / 230 Euro. I'm hoping it'll be worth it.

When I think closer, it would be really good for Chivalry Medieval Warfare. I always use third-person there because you get a much better FOV, and you get that sense of where everything is swinging around your body and how you are positioned. But in third-person you're much more able to tell when your enemy is attacking, and your aiming is much better too. In 3rd you just tend to make your character aim down at the ground so that you can look above your character to see what's ahead, and that throws your hits away from the enemy in most cases. 1st person is good, but you just don't get a good enough FOV. If TrackIR was compatible with this game, you'd be able to keep your body and swing fixed on one place, but also looking around yourself with only your head to make sure nobody's sneaking up on your side. It would be really great.

I just bought stuff on Ebay for my viking costume for the summer's medieval-fair. I'd put up pictures, but when a sale is done on Ebay, the picture isn't available after it has ended. I got a couple "leather"-boots with buckle-straps, thick leather-bracers for my arms with buckle-straps, an awesome "dragon-scaled" leather-torso and some leather-thread for sewing up some of my clothes for the occasion so they get that medieval-look. A while back I also bought a lot of brown linen, which a friend of mine is going to make into an awesome cape. Alltogether, it cost me about 500 USD.

Today I also bought a cheap leather-sofa so that I could strip off all the leather, and make a roman-soldier-like "skirt" thing:
But it turned out it was fake leather, so the fabric is very thin and doesn't really look that genuine. But I'll do my best with what I've got.

That's strange. I'm always able to view, the images, of an item that has already been sold/notsold on ebay. Are you sure you're doing it right?
Try it with this one Game.

Under the item title "Metro 2033 russian collector's edition"
    1) Look to where it says "See Original Listing" and Click on it. That should do it. If not, maybe there's a setting that you have disable (if there's such a thing).
I hope the sofa material will be good enough for the roman skirt, though.

Thanks for the help, but I'll rather wait until I have it all, and have a friend take a picture of me with it all on my body, perhaps even in a fitting environment so it becomes cosplay-worthy :D

Me and my partner have started on the cape of dark brown linen and the skirt. Well, she has; I just come with ideas while she actually do all the sewing  The cape is getting its shape, and I've got buckles to attach it to the shoulders. So far there's just been one skirt-piece sown, but we'll get the rest done eventually too :D Right now I'm just waiting for that leather-thread for my underclothes, and those arm bracers. I'm getting worried they might not get here in time

Anyway, I just made the best purchase I have made in.... ever!

The single is available upon pre-ordering, and it's really good like all the rest of their music, duuh
Just three more months, and I'll finally have that new album that I've been waiting so unpatiently for, for about... three years?

    Yep :)
But I agree that it's much better off, taking a picture, of the outfit, the way it's meant to be (great, now I sound like the NVidia slogan). And I do wish the album you've been waiting for is as good as you hoped and well worth the wait. ;)

I bought a pup tent, from WW II (exact date 1943), at an estate stale for $25. I found it, inside of the home's garage, tucked away in a foot locker. Inside the locker was also a pair of flairs from the same year -which I also bought. I also got myself, two books, online: The Postman and Pripyat The Beast of Chernobyl.

I was at a "thrift store", as it apparently is called in 'merica. A reuse-store, simply. These stores are always boring in Norway. Everything is cheap, yes, but it's with a good reason; everything is boring, boring and utter boring. There's just old ladies who want to save money, buying porcelain dishes and furnitures. But I did finally stumble upon something exciting. A thing you wouldn't expect to see in a reuse-store, but it still made sense that it was there: An old leather coat. In a medium brown color with thick real leather. It's a bit worn, but that just gives it that authentic look. The inside is made of polyester, in that typical old-man's green checkerboard-pattern.

But that's not visible from the outside anyway, not even if I have the coat open. It might be a bit... idk, rag-tag? I really feel like Aiden Pearce when wearing it. Played too much Watch_Dogs :p

Maybe I'll take a picture of it one of these days and post it, but right now I cba 'cause you all know what a leather coat looks like. And it doesn't have that curled up shiny cheap plastic-appearance either, the leather is matte and straight, with neat seams. It was probably very pricey back in it's days :D

    :pound: So, true.
Don't worry; a lot of the thrift stores overhear are quite boring as well. Though, I have run into some PC games/good books when I've gone to them, but that rarely ever happens.

And strangely enough, I too have bought a leather jacket from a thrift store :p. If your coat looks glazed -not just shiny- you could clean it with some saddle soap and water. You can then buff it with a soft rag to give it a normal true-shine. At least, that's what it's suppose to do. I tried it with mine and it sorta worked. I just don't think I did the saddle soap part correctly and I ended drying the leather a bit. Also, if your coat happens to be a dark leather color, I know you could apply some special oil to it help protect it/bring it back to life. It'll probably make it darker than what it was, but it'll fade with use. Though, if the coat happens to be a light brown color, I don't recommend using oil since it'll stain the coat dark, unlike the original light brown color that it once was. There apparently is some light oil for light brown leather jackets, but I haven't found it yet. I guess you'd need to special order it or something.

I did run into some good movies there, yes. They even had the whole Alien collection..... on VCR

Yeah, a guy I know told me I could use some leather-oil or something to make the leather seem like new and make those worn areas disappear, but I can't really tell what the color is. It looks kind of light, and normal brown, and yet dark brown too. Difficult to describe  I think I'm gonna pass on the saddle soap, thank you :p

Now I just found a picture of me wearing the coat (Yes, I censored myself )

The white dots aren't dirt on the lens, but snowflakes very close to it. And the coat looks kind of puffed out on the bottom, that's because I have some gloves and beanies in the pockets. The pockets are very low, so you can actually have your arms hanging loosely down whilst having your hands in the pockets, so you don't have to have that bend on your elbow all the time. Pretty slack. Though, the sleeves are supposed to be folded up like they are in the picture, but that makes them a bit too short. Kind of annoying, for such a nice coat to have too short sleeves.

Onto another matter, I'm gonna buy some materials for my shield soon, for the medieval fair. (It's closing in now, less than two months remaining). My father did some photoshopping and digitally made the shield for me. It's gonna be a Heater-shield, and it's gonna have a black wooden color, so it matches the rest of my armor, and I'm gonna have some sort of medieval logo on it. I want to use my homecity's .... well, it translates to "Coat Of Arms". It's my homecity's logo, pretty much.

I thought it'd be a cool idea because:
1: It promotes my homecity, which is where the festival actually is, so people will actually notice the logo.
2: In old ages they did too have logos or colors that represented their home, or tribe, or whatever.
3: The logo itself fits in very well because of the nordic letters, the boat, the castle etc.

The only problem is that apparently i have to ask the city's administrative directory for permission to use the logo. If not, I could get into some trouble on the festival. I have applied with an email, but they haven't replied, and it's been a while... -_-

Found the picture of the shield:

The color of the coat looks vibrant -basically brand new. I doesn't seem like you'd need any of the leather oil for it, at all -even though some areas, according to your description, may show some wear. Very nice find :thumb:
And that sucks that you need to have permission to use the city's logo on your shield. It makes sense, though, since I'm sure the city wouldn't want people committing crimes with the city's logo patched all over their cloth. I'd make the city look bad (at least according to the rule book). Not that you'd probably do any of that; but, if the rule applies to one person, then it has to apply to everyone, or else it's not fair (at least according to the rule book). You should just etch in something unique, at the bottom, so that if anyone decides to make a big deal about it, you could say it's not the same as city's logo because it has a unique marking on the seal. ;)

Two new outdoor-pants for trips in the mountains and forests, a Viking-like woodhatchet, some pellets for my air-guns, some brown stretch-fabric and brown fur-fabric for my medieval costume :D

I'm glad I don't post in this thread whenever I buy something, otherwise I'd probably become depressed at the amount of vodka I'd discover I've bought in the past few months. You guys are spending money on such creative endeavours, whilst I have just been drinking it off lately... though since my PC is breaking, it would probably be wise to start saving up for a replacement of the faulty component now.

Well, I don't post everything, that I buy, onto this thread -otherwise I think I'd bore you guys. I only mention the things that I think some of you might take interest in. Though, if you really want to know some of the stuff I bought lately, Here's a list with some general pictures:

Replacing old PC components with new ones was usually something I saw as unnecessary. First time I did it, was when I wasn't able to play a new game I had bought and anticipated: AVP 2010 (or something). As more and more stuff was required of my PC (especially in Garry's Mod), the PC became slower and slower in performance compared to what it had to process, but it was so gradually that I could barely even notice it. Whenever I had friends over, they'd go "Holy crap, your PC is so laggy and unplayable!!!", when I thought it was just fine and playable because I was used to lagging.

Then a friend of mine upgraded his PC for the upcoming Star Citizen, and offered to sell me his old parts cheap. I got a whole new motherboard, and so I had to get a new power source and some new RAM-chips, so it ended up being thrice the cost than originally intended, but the results were AMAZING. I was really shocked, playing Garry's Mod so smoothly with -NO- lag. Then my PC was too bad to play Watch Dogs, so luckily another friend of mine sold me his brand new graphics card that he had gotten in a package but had no use for.

I think it's a year since I got the graphics card and two to three years since I got the motherboard, RAM and power source. Everything's playable with little lag, and NO lag on low settings - even GTA V :D (Too bad GTA V keeps updating all the time and gets stuck so I have to use five hours to re-download a percentage of it every damn time -_-)

TL;DR: I've never unnecessarily updated my computer hardware and thought "Oh well I guess it's about time I get me some new hardware". I've only upgraded whenever I've either had to, or I've been given a good opportunity to do it.

Anyway, what I really was going to reply to you, Bamul, was that... hmm.... Now I forgot

Haha, ok, I get you. :p For me it has been the same except for that one time when I just wanted to get a better GPU (which is the GTX 770 that I'm using right now) to get higher settings in more games, even though the Radeon HD 7770 was fine with most things on medium - which also formed me to get a larger case and different power supply to fit and power the new beast. The only other times I upgraded was when I had to because my PC was just completely broken. This time I fear I may have to deal with something like that again. Besides, even if my PC carries on like this without resetting too often, each unexpected reset does damage the hard drive a bit. However, interestingly enough, I had no such problems yesterday when playing GTA V for about 7 hours in total.

So I'm still not quite convinced whether my PSU is the source of the issue. I've got the weird feeling that I may be stepping on the power cable by accident and resetting it like that, but I don't think that's plausible... is it? I've never heard of something like that before and these cable are pretty tough. Have you (or anyone else here) heard about something like that happening?

It is possible. If you suspect that it's the power cable -and I'm not sure if you'd like to try this as further sudden restarts can harm your computer (supposedly)- but you could slightly bend the cable, every few centimeters, and see if your computer restarts (also check the elbow areas where the cable is connecting to a wall and into your computer, those are usually the easiest to be affected). Anyway, if it does restart when you move the cable around, then that means that the wire inside is broken/faulty and disconnects when you accidentally step on it (the reason why it provides power, at times, is because the wire maybe be slightly touching, by a small strand of wire, when there's no applied pressure to it, or the current provided jumps the gap when undisturbed). If it is the cable -and hopefully it is- you could always solder the wire together and then do a hobo by taping it back up with electrical tape. Though, if it's on the elbow parts of the cable, tightly applied electrical tape could do the job, just fine, without solder.

Stuff like this has happened to me with old console controllers, radio power cables, etc (anything with a black cable).

Thanks for all the advice. :) I actually found out later that day that it is indeed either the cable or the socket in the PSU. I will check it first by simply swapping out the power cable for a different one and then moving it about to see if it restarts.

And I'm glad to hear that it didn't turn out to be anything major.
