Controlling emotions can both be possible and impossible. How so?
A good example would be a depressive teenager who's been sent to hundreds of psychiatrists and the like, but can't get rid of the constant depression. The person is in a state where he/she can't budge to anything that is to help him/her to get rid of the depression. This makes it impossible to control the emotions, BUT there's still no physical law that says that it's impossible. It is physically possible, but still not possible for the person. I don't know if that made any sense, but I'm pretty sure it's correct. You're both right

It depends on how you think.

If someone close to you died from old age and your views on life were that death is inevitable and you shouldn't worry over things you can't prevent then you probably wouldn't get as down about it.
I didn't get depressed when my grandmother died and we were very close, I was more concerned for the rest of my family.

 

I know, I'm surprised that anything I wrote here could ever be interpreted as "underestimating the power of the mind".

 

I absolutely hate indecision. Whenever I ask someone what they want to do, they just say "I don't care," or "Whatever you want to do," and sometimes they just bob their head back and forth. It just makes me want to punch a hole in the wall. I also strongly dislike it when people wear clothing that says "Tap Out" when they don't know what it means. I actually asked a everyone I saw who was wearing a tap out shirt over the course of a month to see how many of them actually knew what it meant. Out of the one hundred and three people that I asked, only two of them knew what it meant. It just really annoys me.

 

Tap Out is a clothing designer, well-known in the US (they are also in the UK, but not as popular). I have one "Tap Out" shirt, but I bought it for the urban camo and red eagle insignia - never cared for the company. I'm guessing the term "tap out" is related to wrestling, when an opponent gives up? Or loses after being held in a submission hold for the three taps, or something? Sorry if I'm wrong, I'm no expert on wrestling as I've never been a fan of it.

 

When people look at my screen while I'm playing and says that I'm lagging. I can take it when people whine about lag. I can even whine about lag myself, and I can take it when they say that I lag in-game, but when a person IRL is near me, looking at my screen, saying that I'm "lagging awfully horribly", when I barely notice it myself, I get so angry

Oh, and again, when PC things won't work. Today I've spent three hours of my evening of failing when I've wanted to play any game with a friend. First off, I waste a shitload of time trying to connect to a server on Garry's Mod, but it just won't work. We eventually give up, and install a mod for GTA, which takes a lot of time. Eventually, we begin playing. TWICE when we've finally prepared and geared up and arrived at the crime scene in the police-mod, I crash. Twice. And now I have to go to do an hour's work before coming back home just to go to bed too late in a shitty mood. God damnit I hate it when computers are failing me. I swear to god, my PC has its own personality, and it purposely does dick-moves in the most annoying and time-wasting ways just to piss me off.

 

It boggles me that every single year, DSB (Danske statsbaner/ Danish railways) is taken completely by surprise by the fact that it snows in the winter time. They never prepare for it, and I heard last year that on average the trains are 15 mins delayed when it's snowing or very cold.

 

When I order clothes online, and when I finally get them after waiting impatiently for so long, they don't fit at all....

When there's a song playing on the radio and the person next to you is either loudly whistling it or singing it under there breath, and every once in a while there voice will crack through, but they'll just try to hide it as if you didn't hear it. I mean just shut up and let everyone listen to the song without you ruining it.
