This Is A Launch Day Purchase, Right?

Certainly, I am going to go and buy this game on its release date. I am super excited to buy and play Fall Out 4. I am getting more and more hyped as the days go buy.

I think I'm probably going to preorder it from GMG for $45. Yeah, there are no bonuses or DLC included. Yeah, if it's anything like Skyrim, you'll be able to pick it up for the console for like $15 in a year or two. But this is the first game in a long time that I have wanted to play AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I'm usually very stingy with my video game purchases, but I honestly think that I'm going to pour so much time into FO4 that money won't really matter anymore.

I will try to get the game on launch day, depends on how my finances work out! but I really have no interest in preordering unless there is a bonus of some sort that makes it worth it.

I am going to wait till the Christmas sale on steam. I know it's kind of early for it to be in sale a month after release, but the same thing happened with Skyrim in 2011 and it's just a month of waiting, so I will somehow endure it.

Besides, that month will give bethesda time to fix lots of bugs that will make it into the initial purchase.

Not for me. I don't pre-order or buy on launch day because I'm just paying the maximum price for a game in its most confusing, broken state. I'll wait until the first round of patches or the first Steam Sale rolls by before I consider buying it. I trust Bethesda to deliver a great game, but I don't want to play it buggy. The first playthrough needs to be special.

I know what you mean about the first playthrough being special. I always mod my Bethesda games, so part of me is a teeny tiny bit hesitant to buy now, so that I can wait until the mod scene has developed a little bit. But a much bigger part of me is an impatient infant who just wants FO4.

It's definitely a day one purchase for me. I plan to preload onto my PS4 and disappear for a few days starting midnight that night, lol. I didn't spend much time with Fallout 3, and I didn't even try New Vegas. I'm not really sure why that is, but I've kind of been wanting to go back and play them. I've been huge a fan of Bethesda since I played the Morrowind port on the original Xbox. :) Anyway, there's no way in hell I'll be missing this one. This new generation of hardware is just starting to pick up speed, and I have a feeling Fallout 4 is going to be a gaming milestone for the next few years at least.

See, this is why I wish I could get into PC gaming, lol. Given the choice, I'd like to be a console guy with an awesome PC rig, but I'm a writer, man, and I earn what writers tend to earn. I've heard the mod communities for these things are insane. Haven't been able to play a good PC game since Oblivion, if you can believe that, lol.

Nope, as I've said before it's too risky even for an established developer and franchise. I may have been waiting for a long time but it isn't long enough to warrant me buying a $50+ game to not even know if it will work or not.

FO4 will apparently have mod capabilities on console! Granted, we don't know exactly how deep those capabilities will be, but it's something. And building your own gaming PC isn't as expensive as you would think! I've put together builds that can play games like FO4 for less than $450.

Well something bad like the latest Batman game could happen, but I think the chances are really slim. They've already proven that they are an amazing franchise and I'm sure if there are going to be bugs/issues they're going to be prompt to solve them.
