Yes, there were many things wrong with Metro 2033 and a "cult following" is not enough in this day and age. THQ realised too late that they had a hidden gem and even now with the game releasing in 2 months we're not really seeing much marketing and PR with Last Light are we?

Because of the THQ crisis it is going down the same route as 2033. Now a big publisher would campaign the hell out of any new IP or sequel.

Hate it or not but DLC, and MP generate extra revenue to the publisher. Whether it was a resource or timing issue why the prototype multiplayer/co-op was canned we'll never know, but it was needed and sounded interesting to attract new comers to the game.

Either that or increase campaign or bring out "lost chapters" campaign as DLC.

We all want the game to be successful and most of us loyal to 4A will buy the game (not pirate). I just have a sad feeling that this will be the last Metro game we'll ever play and if that's because of THQ then I welcome a new Publisher.

I agree. We all want Last Light to be successful and bring shitload of money to 4A and THQ.I want 4A working with/for THQ,i guess we all do.
But if things do fall apart and 4A is left without a publisher i am hoping for the best one possible. And EA,Ubisoft and Activision are not among them. That's all i was saying.

Lets all agree on one thing. We get cdrpojekt RED to buy them. They're growing quite fast and this could be there first step twoards being a big publisher.

CD project RED is developer, not a publisher. The Witcher was released by Namco Bandai.
Double fine probably wants to buy the right for their games like Stacking, so Metro is a no go for them.

Multiplayer isn't scrapped it's just put on hold. It was put on hold as a way to focus on the single-player and make a kick ass single player then they can work on a kick ass multiplayer. This is a move I've never seen and if it work we count on seeing this in the future. I like this move since we get the entire team to work on single player and then we get the entire team to work on multiplayer. This creates a better game.

Also Metro isn't a game series that works well with DLC. A game like the ME series, COD series, Elder Scrolls series, these games work with DLC. Metro is a straight forward game that just can't have DLC. Only DLC would be new weapons really and that won't be a huge money maker since for like 5 guns they would only get about a buck per download so the only DLC we would see would be some DLC for multiplayer. But I really hope that the multiplayer won't die in about 3 months like AVP. I loved the AVP multiplayer but since not a lot of people bought it and bigger games overran it, the multiplayer was swamped. Same with Singularity.

Fellas, tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for. I'm not a praying man... but... tomorrow, I might make an exception.

THQ's assets get auctioned off tomorrow. Hopefully, a decent publisher picks up Metro Last Light.

While the Jan 22 date has been widely reported, the court documents I found seem to indicate that the hearing is on Jan 23 at 9:30a EST.

Since Last Light was voted one of the best games of E3 there is a lot of hype. 50 bucks says a couple publishers are going to bid so high and put in so much money and then it's not going to be such a big payday. (Remember this game doesn't have the same fanbase like COD. We don't have 12 year old kids who act hard) And the game series is going to be shut down. That is if Last Light isn't the last Metro we're going to see.

    Full details availible below.
Tommorow the highest bidder will be announced but the total of all bids must exeed 60 million or clear lake recives them but clearlake can tommorow raise it's bid for ALL the games. In which case the others can raise there bids as well. But if that happens then the highest bidder recives ALL the ganes excluding south park. The reason south park is excluded is the owners of the tv show have objected to allowing thq to sell the stick of truth.

Things just got interesting again :pop2:

The game made a good amount of money. It made a lot more than expected and had a huge community of loyal players and so does Last Light. Last Light is also really hyped up.

    Fuck yeah sega!
(Total War series, they have given Rome TW 2 40% bigger budget than they've ever had before. So they got their money straight, and are willing to invest)
I forgot to mention them as one of my wishes for who should buy THQ. But now they MIGHT buy THQ, but even in that case we're not absolutely sure about wether they buy the Metro-franchise rights.
