I prefer a PC to gaming consoles. I don't even like using controllers. The mouse and keyboard are easier to control for me. I know I am probably alone on this for the most part. I used a throttle-stick joystick for a F-22 raptor game in the late 1990s, and I crashed less by using the keyboard and mouse! I have also tried the Playstation-looking controllers, but they just feel weird using them at the computer desk.

I never use a controller on PC. I prefer to use Keyboard and Mouse when I'm playing on PC.

I am sure for certain games a controller would be useful but I would assume PC games are designed with the assumption that most players will be using a mouse and keyboard of some sort.

I never had a controller but I had a steering wheel and pedals hooked up to my computer's USB port for racing games.

I can understand what you mean. After you play a certain game with a controller or mouse, anything else seems weird. (Kind of like playing Sims on console...That is a MASSIVE no!)

It depends on the game, if I prefer to use a mouse or not. Like I used an early example, playing Sims on a computer is a lot simpler and makes more sense to play, since you have so many controls at your disposal.
However, the same cannot be said about Saints' Row 2. It could be because the game controls weren't made correctly or something, but I can't play that game with a mouse. It's impossible to do. It's simpler to use a controller and you can aim more accurately, with less confusing controls.

The type of mouse isn't a factor. So, long as it has a left button, right button and a wheel, it's a usable mouse. I like using a mouse depending on the game, like I said. It can be more accurate that a controller. That's why I like it.

As for using some controllers on some games, it depends on if they allow the usage of controllers. Some games allow the use of a gamepad and other usb controllers, while others don't have the option to do so. There's usually no limits on the controllers, since their options are programmed into the game. My preference will forever be a mouse, unless the game is unplayable with it.

I game on my PC and I use an Xbox controller. Using the mouse and keyboard for me is a bit tiring for my hands and putting my fingers on ASWD and Shift for 2-3 hours straight really gives me the joint pains. There's this one time where I binged on Assassins Creed using a mouse and keyboard and for 2 straight days I cant properly move my middle finger.

If you already own an Xbox controller or any PlayStation controller, PS2 is recommended, you can buy on ebay an adapter for like 1 to 2 dollars, and it works very well.

I use gamepads for the PC gaming. Not everything is compatible with just a keyboard and mouse, so it's nice to have a quick alternative to this problem.

Also joysticks, I know what you mean. Gamepads on PC are amazing though.

It depends on the game. Some games are more fun with a controller while others are more fun with a mouse and keyboard. Personally, I like using a controller because it really gives you the feeling of gaming.

Never done such things and I hope I will never do that. On the desktop PC I only game with mouse and keyboard, if I have to game with the gamepad I just go for a console..

I do play with a controller but only on games like FIFA or WWE 2kXX. I find it impossible to play those games with your keyboard, a controller is much nicer.

I find controllers should remain for the consoles, and keyboards for PCs. What do you say, fair trade?

Leaving jokes aside, I really like controllers on my PC. Maybe there's that FIFA game I can't currently afford on console but which I have on my PC and would like to experience it in the same manner as through a console.

I'm a PC gamer first and foremost which means keyboard and mouse are my weapons of choice, but there are games that I just can't imagine playing using those two. However, those games are usually sports games and I don't play those that often. Action games like GTA are sort of an even split for me and only if a game graphics haven't been optimized to utilize the mouse/keyboard and rely on controller based graphics then I'll switch.

The only way I play on a PC is with a keyboard and a mouse. I only use controllers when it's a flying simulator or a racing/boating simulator because it's much more fun when it has a bit more realism in there. MMORPG games are usually played on keyboard and mouses like LoL, Dota and Hon so you can't escape it.

Controllers and stuff for simulators work. A few games that were obviously ported from consoles would work. Skyrim's base user interface is obvious on that fact. But other than that exception- keyboard and mouse.

I felt the same way when I first made the move from console to PC. Chances are you'll get used to keybord and mouse and actually come to prefer it. If not, there's some useful software out there for controllers I use for FIFA (MotionJoy).
