Was there ever a point where you fell off of minecraft?

I got to the point where I knew everything about Minecraft and I didn't feel the need to play it anymore.
After the new updates I started to play again because they added a lot of new things and some interesting mechanics.
I really enjoy Minecraft at the moment.

Yeah for me it was always a kind of an on and off thing, so I can't really say I've fallen of it, I was never too much into it to begin with, I mean don't get me wrong I love Minecraft and its an awesome little game but you can get bored pretty easily, I don't really liek the pvp aspect on online servers, and now with the new features and everything its all kinda overwhelming and I didn't bother to learn them so I play rather rarely nowadays, nonetheless I still do. I used to play much more back when it was just in early alpha and it was all about building and enjoying the serene atmosphere at day, dodging monsters at night.

Before I started playing online, there was a point where I was pretty developed in the single player and didn't have much motivation to keep playing, but then I discovered the brand new online world :)

Yeah, several times. But I always get back to it. I don't know but sometimes you want to play Minecraft and sometimes you get bored by playing it too often.

I know absolutely nothing about potions, I barely know redstone, and I had no idea about structures and strongholds until I stumbled on a pyramid and my friend told me about the end. I play it extremely casually now. Build forts and castles, get diamonds, get bored, leave.

All of these new updates are really boring. Horses really killed minecraft for me. My interest still hasn't came back and it most likely never will.

I am one to adapt to changing game mechanics, especially if it adds features that are necessary and boosts the experience. I don't know why anyone here thinks using an Anvil is complicated. It has two slots and a naming tag. You can to combine two enchants together? Stick each in its own slot. Then click the result. I mean this is literally 1+1. If you think basic elementary school math is difficult, maybe you should quit using the computer all together.

I never use potions in my regular MC gaming. So how does having that option deter you from playing the game?

Somewhere on this planet, a shop opened up selling burritos with super spicy hot cheese and chilli. How does that shop affect what I desire to eat today? So having potions in Minecraft affects me how?

I just don't get it. If your friends spent the first few days gathering potion ingredients to make potions, what makes you think that will all be what they will do forever? If something is new, some people want to try it out. Then when the fresh mechanic runs out, they will revert to whatever they were doing.

The poster above said horses killed Minecraft for him. How? I see donkeys, mules and horses everywhere. I don't use them, ever. So having them wander around is just like watching wolves, ocelots, chickens and squid wander around. They have zero effect on me.

Unless Mojang made it so Minecraft is no longer a game of building stuff, then I really don't get how people could suddenly lose interest because something new was added to it. Something new and optional. Again, if some random place in the world opened an Apple store that sells Apple products, how does that store affect how I use my PC?

I've stopped playing for a while before, although obviously I came back to the game eventually.

I fell off right after I got it. I just never had the time to invest and now it's everywhere! I really wish I could jump in on some the conversations I hear daily about it but I guess that ship has sailed. Maybe I'll give it another try and stop being scared og getting completely lost in the sauce.
