What are the things you put in your city?

If I was making my own metropolis kind of city, I would definitely add some kind of a main building like a White House or a parliament. I would also be interested in building some kind of a power plant and an army base in the city to make it more interesting.

I've gotten some great ideas from the posts in this thread! Thanks for sharing, all! :) In my next town I'm definitely making a jail and a swimming pool!

My towns are typically very small, usually consisting of an inn, a farm or two (sometimes one for livestock and one for crops), several small houses, a library, a blacksmith/forge, a restaurant with tables and chairs, and usually a fountain and gardens.

My personal favourite town build was a garden town, where each house was themed around a certain flower. The small cottages were very colourful and built from a shade of dyed wool matching the flower. Each house had a fenced garden with 6-8 of its flower growing! Inside each cottage was a bed, table, potted flower, and sometimes carpets matching the theme. It turned out really cute.

I like using a lot of glass and building up. Provides cool views and helps you see what's going on around you. I also like to connect my city to the caverns underneath. Youtube is always a great place for Minecraft inspiration if you're looking for specific cool ideas.

I have all the usual things you find in a city, or as I like to call it a "compound", but I think what separates mine from most is the packs of wolves, there's at least a dozen of them scattered around just in case someone tries to mess. Pack of wolves vs any mob = dead mobs.
