Not sure what you mean by this.
I said that I thought the books fleshed out both sides. One of us is misinterpreting something here.

Also, in terms of actual games we've been playing; I'm not sure if this counts, but I recently went through Katawa Shoujo. I've typically never really been a fan of anime and its art style/mannerisms (unless Avatar counts), but I saw Millbee and a webcast on Geek and Sundry play a little bit of it, and I actually got drawn in. I'll say, ignoring the 10% that is hilariously awkward love scenes and the 10% that is incredibly thick and stupid dialogue from your character's end, as well as maybe the 5% cheasy anime art styles and mannerisms, the remaining 75% is actually really well written. I've had a hard time getting back into reading since middle school, but I've gone through two of the five character arcs, and man, the guys that put this together have some serious talent. It handles disabilities in a pretty mature yet pragmatic way, and has some really interesting internal monologues, as well as conversations with characters coming to grip with their mortality and their place in the universe. The arc I just finished, for a female painter who has no arms and a severe (yet undiagnosed) case of Alexithymia, is probably one of the most compelling stories I've read in a long time. Kudos to whoever these guys are, for putting together a really entertaining (and free) visual novel.

Yeah, I remember reading about how it was the result of five years of work from some assorted guys from 4chan.

I do enjoy me some Payday 2, unfortunately the only friend who played it had his CPU and Motherboard burn out on him, and randoms are.....a mixed bag. Every once in a while you'll get some people who are pretty impressive in their cohesion, but most of the time, I just get people who seem like they're playing a different game.

Civ V with both expansion packs and all the DLC (bought a bundle of gold edition + BNV)... so damn addictive. I've started playing the series since Civ II and loved it ever since, so it was about time I got the newest one (especially since Civ IV doesn't seem to work on Windows 7/8 for many people - myself included and I can no longer play it since my current PC has W8). It's been quite a hell of a journey since I first played this franchise, and now I can't get away from Civ V either. :twitch:

Been playing Chivalry Medieval Warfare five hours non-stop today. I can't remember ever being so pissed about a game. It's sufferable to begin with, until you actually get the hang of it. And when you do get the hang of it, it becomes so rediculously funny, and it really becomes entertaining. For me, it almost got addictive because of the awesome controls. You actually do real proper strategic swordfencing. Hitting around randomly and bashing every button there is, doesn't work in this game like it does in Skyrim. You actually have to be focused, be quick, use your reflexes and find a clever strategic move within the blink of an eye.

You can stab high, you can stab low. You can hit downwards, you can hit from side to side. And shields don't block everything there is in your path; you actually have to aim around on the screen with your shield to properly block an arrow or a hit, and heavy hits like greatswords staggers you and your shield. Every control in this game is so well-thought-out by the developers. Really loving it! :D

Put about 50 hours into Dark Souls this past week. Pretty damn fun...when it works like it's supposed to.

Yeah, the difficulty scaling starts to lose some consistency the further you go along with new games, since the skill bonuses seem to gradually taper off in effectiveness and it's not hard to get maxed out gear in your first playthrough. Basic enemies seem much easier, but there are a couple of bosses that are just whole new beasts compared to their NG counterparts.

Been taking some advantages of the Hearthfire DLC in Skyrim recently, also installed two interesting mods.
So now I have my lakeview mansion that I buildt myself. I bought and crafted materials for it equally, and ended up using 15-25K septims for materials. (Difficult to estimate the exact ammount because after I bought materials from a trader, he/she finally had enough money to buy all the jewelry and other stuff I always carry around in my inventory, so I made a lot of money at the same time. Started out with 55K, ended up with 40K. So you could say I transformed my useless valuables into a house, and only lost 15K in doing so :))

Anyway, Lakeview Mansion with my wife Sylgja, my two children that I can boss around as much as I want, my steward&companion Lara Croft in black samurai armor with red details, and my bard who plays music in the house. Oh, and the boy's mudcrab-pet. Here are a few screenies:

(Yeah, she wears ragged clothes when she's my Steward. Tried to steal them from her when she was sleeping, but they stayed on her :()

Yeah, I kind of based my character on Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai:

And I think this one turned out especially well, I should just have removed the crosshairs and the HUD.

Looks like you're having fun. I tried out the DLC for Xbox a while back, wasn't a big fan. Took an awful lot of work to set up, didn't like most of the spots too much, regularly had the place bug out and have entire spots (including doors) disappear on me (forcing me to reload earlier saves since reloading didn't fix things), and enemies regularly spawned right in front (oh look, a trio of giants are here to stop by). All I wanted was a cool house with all of the crafting necessities close by (which I guess I got) and a really quick and easy place to store my stuff, which I kind of got. Still, felt a bit lackluster for the price, and moving an entire house's worth of stuff over was a pain.

    Me?

That's what you get for playing it on console and not PC ;)
I loved the Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC though :D

Hey, I didn't have a PC capable of playing the game on until just recently.

As for Dark Souls, I got the Lordvessel in NG+, but got kinda bored of it, so I started a new build doing a two-hander in hopes of setting up a giantdad to mess with people in PvP.

Just completed Mafia2 for the fourth time. Absolutely marvellous game! I'm not even tired of the story. If anything, I'm even more fond of it, and understanding it better.
