In addition to that, try running with Shadowplay off (most likely already true, but just in case), Vsync and any form of AA off (FXAA is probably fine, but it's worth a shot). In addition to that, make sure that Physx is completely enabled, and try running the game in offline mode by setting Steam or Uplay to offline, and see if that helps at all.

Just fired up my 12 year old Xbox and opened car editor in Need For Speed Underground 2. Found my old cars. Some of them are horribly ugly
Working at Toyota, we're also marketing/fixing/selling Lexus as well, as Lexus actually is produced by Toyota. It's just the luxurious toyotas, pretty much. So, I've now pimped up a Lexus IS 300 in NFSU2 :D

It's been a while since I played something; though, the reason I'm hear is to say that I got a friend into liking metro 2033. That time TotalAaron posted up a link to free copies of metro 2033, I told a few of my friends about it and they all got themselves copies -though, up until now, only one of them has decided to try the game out. Since then, he's become obsessed with it. The great thing is, since my friend and I both went to the same school with a guy named Artem, whom we both knew, there's now more of a middle ground to relate our dumb stories together.

I started playing World of Tanks about a week ago. Okay game but it's not really hooking me in. I rarely feel like playing it for any more than a few battles at a time.

Today I reinstalled S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Lost Alpha, and I lost about four hours to it this afternoon. I'll probably play it obsessively for the next week or so until moving onto something else.

@dogpatch: I downloaded and tried to install Lost Alpha, about a couple of months ago, but I kept getting an error about a missing file. I had a friend who dealt with the same thing. Did you ever encounter a similar problem when you first installed it?

I've been really busy with school, at the moment, so I haven't had any time to plunge myself into an actual game that is story driven. Though, I have started about 5 games that have a story to it, but I've only completed, each one, about half way -I'm not very motivated to play an entire game, all the way through, right now. To satisfy my game time, I'm playing Payday: The Heist. It serves its purpose of not having me think, too much, to enjoy the game (shooting hordes of law enforcement squads until the objective is completed).

Also, on one of the 5 games that are story driven-ish: I started playing Condemned Criminal Origins (made by the same team who created F.E.A.R.). The story is alright, so far, but the combat is really realistic, I guess I could say (that's also what the game is noted for by many reviews out there). It has a creepy atmosphere and it is only amplified by the the excellent quality of the sound files. I only wish that today's games were made with such great sound effects.

Oh man, I love Monolith Productions! They made one of my favourite games of all time - the old PC title Aliens versus Predator 2 from 2001. F.E.A.R. was quite good as well, but I thought it was a bit overrated. As for Condemned, I only played the demo of the PS3 version of the sequel a few years back, but getting the full game someday would be nice too as it looks interesting.

Personally I've been playing a lot of Dragon Age: Inquisition lately. It's very addictive, but not without a fair share of problems. I might share my full impressions of the game once I finish it. Though I am thoroughly enjoying it at the moment.

Yeah, Monolith is a great dev company; though I didn't realize Monolith made AVP2.....and I have the game! I haven't played it, though. It's on my list to play next, along with System Shock 2. As with F.E.A.R. and Condemned, I'm quite the opposite (well, sort of). I've only played the Demo for F.E.A.R.. Anyway, Condemned is good so far. I don't know what to compare it with. F.E.A.R. perhaps? The beginning of the game starts out quite the same. You're a detective, going into an abandoned building, to investigate a crime scene. It's a good game, just in a different way:). I've gotten startled more than a few times and it's fun hitting thugs, across the face, with a busted pipe. I don't know. To me, this game feels like how an actual detective would feel like, investigating a gang infested city with creeps lurking around every corner, waiting to take you out with every opportunity they have.

I have the PC version, allowing me to customize settings and all, but the anti-aliasing isn't very good -even when I force it through the graphics card. Everything else, graphics-wise, is quite nice. Also, the sequel to Condemned was never released for PC (PS3 and Xbox 360 only).

Dragon Age: I've read many good things about it, in magazines, but I have no personal connection to the game since I haven't played a single title from series. I've been thinking about buying them; especially since many reviews out there compliment the story line in the first game.

I didn't have any problems at all. Downloaded the torrent from its ModDb page, as well as the v1.3003 patch, and it installed and worked with no issues.

Since finishing Lost Alpha I've been playing Dragon Age 2 and Skyrim on and off, until this morning I decided to reinstall STALKER: Call if Pripyat, and got the Sigerous Mod 2.1 to try out today.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I haven't done my second download of it, yet, but I will this coming Monday and try it from there. And that Sigerous Mod looks interesting. So far, it's gotten pretty good reviews and I think it looks better than Misery mod. I'll like to give it a try someday (I wouldn't have heard about it if you didn't mention it). Oh, and apparently, they decided to put Librarians as fightable mutants, into the mod.

Sorry the reply took so long. Haven't been so active around here. I was pleasantly surprised to start the Sigerous Mod to hear the Metro guitar music at the menu. I was planning to get Misery but heard that it was too much about making the game harder. Haven't gotten far in Sigerous Mod yet, but looks ok. I've got to get used to the huge differences between Shadow of Chernobyl/Lost Alpha and Call of Pripyat before I can really get into it though.

Been playing Payday 2 as part of the free weekend, it is tons of fun but keeps breaking half the time and therefore really frustrating.

^ Payday rocks..... Too bad it's only the free weekend deal. Though, that won't keep me from giving it a try.

Well, you can get the game at a large discount of -80% at this time as well. Much of the DLC is also discounted.

Yeah, the discounts on a lot of the DLC are really good.

And are you talking about crashes or bugs that interfere with missions? Post what happened, I might have an idea.

Also, if you're on the ropes, it's a god damn six dollar game that has constant mixed paid/free updates, and they're going to do so for another year and a half. Me and Komo play it from time to time too. Every heist (including the paid ones) is free to play, all thirteen of them (excluding the different variations of certain areas). Make that fifteen at the end of the current massive week of free updates they're doing right now. The DLC constantly goes on sale for at least 50% every sale. The updates are constant, at a rate of at least one every month generally.

It has the largest community of any game on Steam, at 2.5+ million members. The indie title has grown so popular that Overkill actually had to hire another studio to keep up with their workload and demand for support. They officially implemented mod support, and have actually worked with multiple mod developers to make sure they get their stuff updated on time with each patch.

The amount of content that you get for six dollars is absurd, and it's only going to keep growing. They might nickel and dime with a lot of little DLC packs, but you can not buy a single one and still get a ton out of the game. And it might still occasionally be a buggy mess, but it's still insanely fun at times in spite of it. And sometimes because of it.
