What are your methods of handling Skeletons?

Zig zag between objects or just run right up to one with a sword. However, these days, I just use a bow and arrow and shoot at them from afar. Skeletons plus spiders are a pain in the butt, so shooting them at range is better.

 

I just run at them with a sword. I'd only bother shooting them if their bow has knockback on it.

 

They're so darn annoying. That's why I don't go near them in the first place. That's the way I deal with them, hands down. Haha. Get that pun?

Anyway when I really do need to battle those pesky monsters I use a decked out bow for my purpose.

 

I hide behind a block and wait for them to get close. Then I rush them before they can hit me! Best method everytime!

 

My FAVORITE way is TNT. It's so satisfying to see a huge mob just blow to smithereens right in front of my eyes. BUT it's a block that's rare so I have to make due. I use a protection enchantment and diamond sword. That will take them out in a pinch. Actually, just using a sword in general. That would be the way I always take them out. What I want to know is how everyone likes to take out the endermen. Those things really mess with me. It seems like I never get a break and when I see them they are always dismantling my houses. Then they just disappear before I can even do anything to stop them. I've tried almost all the weapons in the game but with no such luck.

 

I run at them in a weird circle, somehow thinking it'll help me get close and still mess with their aim (which it doesn't). Then I get knocked back until I give up and try not to die. I usually have armor before I fight them. They're jerks.

 

Actually to rephrase my last comment, I noticed a habit I do when I attack skeletons. When I spot one, I would aim my bow, shoot and if it hits, I would walk sideways and back in case the skeleton is close enough to shoot me back. More often than not, if I was close enough to the skeleton, this would save me a counter attack from it.
