What attracted to you WoW?

I became interested in WoW back when I was only twelve-years-old and I watched my older brother play. I had never played an MMORPG before and it seemed like such a fun way to spend time!

I was offered to play it for a while by a friend at the time of it's release. I remember enjoying the aspects of the game and noticing how addictive it could be. Unfortunately, it does get very repetitive after a while and there are too many extra packs. However, that also works to the game's advantage as it makes the game more versatile.

I started playing because I saw it on south park. Fun fact, they shot that episode on a burning crusade beta server. The one thing I wanted, was to be able to summon scorpions . I still dream of that ability today :(. I also wondered if you could splatter heads like cartman did when they got revenge on that dude who was ganking them.

WoW attracted me with its immensity and vastness in terms of gameplay, areas, atmosphere, storyline, it was unheard of for me at least at that time of a game so nicely made and so well put together with such awesome graphics back in 2006 when I first started playing.

I was introduced to WoW in 2006 by my then boyfriend (now husband). I was over at his house and he said he wanted to show me something and to apologize if some evenings he chose to do that instead of go out with me. He then proceeded to show me what I thought was the most awesome looking game I'd seen in a while. Little did he know I was already a gamer, although I had yet to make a leap into MMORGPs. I'd mostly been playing games like Ultima, Myst, SimCity and the Sims at that point.

The next day I ran out and bought the game and started playing, surprising him online. At first he was pleased, but over the years he became disinterested in the game, like so many others have, and I've kept playing. I still enjoy the game to this day. I guess what I like the most is that it's a game where I can choose to either play solo, or play with others, or play solo while just interacting with others in chat. There are so many options in how to play, and what to play. I guess I just love the variety.

At Cataclysm launch day, I was watching TV bored in the morning, waiting for time to pass so I can go to school. I switched to a news programme, where it was showing the launch party and they interviewed the people there, and I got really interested. I asked my classmates at school if they played WoW and a good part of them responded positively, so they made me play.

That was a decision I did not regret.

Glad to see your school mates played. I tried to get friends at school interested, but no one wanted to play : ( . Good news is, I found friends online, most of whom revered me as a god, because I was the most geared, experienced , and I had an encyclopedic knowledge of wow.

I started playing WoW last year on a private server. I'm not sure I've gotten the full gaming experience with the game, seeing as the private server is for Cataclysm. I haven't gotten a chance to play any newer expansions or anything, but from what I have played, I've enjoyed. I was attracted to the game because its similar to other games I play, such as Dungeons & Dragons online, Lord of the Rings Online, and similar titles. I like the fact that you can pretty much have free reign in what you want to do and how you want to level and customize your character.

Having level-able mechanics such as cooking is a definite plus for me. I like having the option to level skills and put them to use in game. Other things that attracted me, were the mass followings the game had earned. If that many people subscribe to a gaming service, it must be good.

There was really nothing that compared to it at the time. A few things existed that were interesting, and a few others popped up, but WOW was and still is the 800 pound Gorilla. Now to wait for them to make a Hoard and Alliance racial divide of playable Gorilla people... who are all 800 pounds and wear leaf loin cloths because.. yeah.. that's highly likely considering the kind of stuff they've done in recent years.

I started playing MMORPGs with a game called Fiesta. It was a lot of fun when I was a lower level player, but once I hit level 45 or so it started to get boring. I was talking with another Fiesta player one day and he recommended I play World of Warcraft instead, so I tried it out and the rest is history.

I happened upon WoW years ago by accident. Literally nothing attracted me to the game - it was just random. I love the game, though.

I played on and off when it first came out but never got into it since there was time commitment that I didn't have. That and I didn't have people to play with, so it didn't make the game exciting for me. It wasn't until the end of Wrath and into Cata that I really got into WoW. I had the time and wanted to give the game another try. I ran into a great group of people which made the game extremely enjoyable.

I became interested in WoW when my cousins were playing. They would show me what inventories they have and show me battle runs. In addition, I was always a Blizzard fan so I said why not.
