I install a took of modifications or texture packs or sound packs or just go on the Minecraft forums. Seriously, with Minecraft it's really crazy. You can never hey bored. You can even go on Youtube and watch really famous Youtube people doing stuff if you're actually bored :)

I shut off all of the auto defenses and I invite creepers into my castle to see how far I can get before my castle is destroyed. It's pretty fun.

Either that or I try to build more crazy hidden rooms to kill anyone who tries to make their way through.

Once you are feeling bored with Minecraft the best thing to do should be simply to take a break or play something different particularly something that is not closely related to Minecratf.

I played minecraft a few times and I always started digging. Never building but just digging. I think i'm missing the point...

I really like digging too, and I set torches along the way. There is something inside me that make me want to hide underground.

Agree. But the thing is, that I'm bored of Minecraft and I did not play it for like 10 months, and I don't think I would go back. I like to build some awesome things like some areans, villages or messing up with redstone etc., but who cares? I would play with people who'd test my machnies, rate my work etc. I started once to make a missions, write some books at MC etc.. :p

What I do when I get bored is one of two things:

    1) Go on the server I have been on for the past 4 years now. I have a lot of great friends there and I never cease to have fun as I can do what I want. Build in the creative map, play survival and grow my castle and village, or just do some PvP events

    2) Another hobby of mine is command blocks. I love command blocks and redstone and I try to make neat little contraptions using them which can be very fun

Mods help to extend your joy for the game. The amount of content that's out there, can get you hooked for days. Especially technical mods such as:

    IndustrialCraft
    BuildCraft
    Forestry
    Thermal Expansion
    GregTech
    and many more...!

They all try to change the objective of the game, and give you new things to do, like breeding bees, or creating massive automated machines.

I just play some other game, or try to build something I haven't built before, like an entire mountain or a sculpture.

I got bored of Minecraft ages ago. It just wasn't fun anymore.
What I did instead is watch YouTube, play games of all kinds, learning how to make a game, doing outdoor activities, spending time with family...
You can do many things other than Minecraft.

Yeah, don't just keep playing if you don't like it. You will begin to just not like the game in general, so don't get burned out.

If you're feeling bored WITH Minecraft, then you should probably take a break. If you're just bored IN Minecraft, then I just build giant farms.

If I play any game to the point of boredom, I put it down and play something else. I might also get up and hang out with friends or go outside.

Often times, I'll end up making a new creative world where I try out new building styles or mess around with redstone. However, as others have said already, if I'm still bored, I'll end up playing other games or just watching youtube videos. Minecraft burnout is real!

I love inventing things with redstone. Sometimes it can get a little stressful though when you can't make a certain part of your machine work, even if in theory it should. However, if anyone wants to get into redstone and doesn't know much about it, there's a YouTuber called Sethbling who is pretty much a god at it, he has a bunch of tutorials and cool stuff to see.

Personally, I go through phases of heavily playing the game to not touching it for a number of weeks. It means that returning to the game is always refreshing and that I never burn out on the game. If you want to add some depth to your game, there are a host of mods that look to achieve this. For an extremely challenging experience, I'd take a look at Terrafirmacraft, a mod that is designed to make the game as realistic (and therefore difficult) as possible.

I generally just stop playing, sometimes you just need a break from it. Whether its a few days or a week or two it will help refresh your brain and once you go back into it its much more fun

I usually mess around more with creeps and invite an invasion or just play ´bad´ to see how much I can recover from.

I like going to my server and following players around undetected just to see what they are doing and do little things that will either help or hinder them depending on my mood. It's not to the point that I get them angry, but it is funny to see the chat logs on the screen.
