    Minecraft is so popular because of how it's really for anyone. You can play it casually or in a hardcore way, it's up to the user. I think that is what makes Minecraft so popular. That, and the fact that it's not a super difficult game to run, so many people can play it. You don't need a super computer to run it, but you can make it look amazing as well. All these choices are big player attractions in Minecraft.

    I think it's the idea that you can kind of do whatever you want and build whatever you want. The game is quite simple too from the outside. Building can be a bit more complex but a lot of people decide they want to learn and it usually hooks them.

    You start off with absolutely nothing in a randomly generated world just for you. You have to survive and create your own entire story. Creativity and curiosity pretty much takes it from there.
