What is happening with Russia and Ukraine now?

Yeah I wanted to get back here again a little. I just started in gymnasium (that would be 2nd grade High School to Americans) so I might not part-take as much as I did like a year ago.
Anyway, I was just in Norway from last wednesday to this monday (trekking in Hardangervidda, btw) and we passed through the border from Sweden to Norway and walked around in the Olso main train station and only noticed minor security buffing. There was another crisis a couple of weeks ago where PST(?) thought returning fighters from Syria would conduct a terrorist attack. Norwegian Intelligence are excused for their paranoia though, considering the recent terrorist attack on Utøya.

Dutch Investigators to Release First MH17 Crash Report in September. Taking their sweet time trying to clean evidence that could blame Ukraine. If UA shot it down, it will be inconclusive and vague. If the rebels shot it down, it will be crystal clear and unequivocal.

Convoy changes route. Everyone cries Trojan Horse so obviously the trucks are choke full of Greeks. I have no idea why would RF pull a Trojan horse here. Rebels control giant stretches of the border, RF doesn't need to hide weapon deliveries. If RF tried to invade, why the hell would the army hide in trucks? There are 100500 soldiers at the border already and again, rebels control giant stretches of the border.

The only real issue I can think of is that the aid will not be delivered to LPR and DPR at all if it goes through Kiev, so Moscow is trying to avoid that.

 

I'm fairly sure that that's the reason why security is being tightened in Europe.

Would they admit that MH17 was shot down by Ukrainian forces after all that knee-jerk blame, Abbott's hysteria and "undeniable US evidence"? I doubt it. But they have no reason to hide the results of the investigation if it incriminates Russia and the Rebels.

I think we can all agree that we like being blamed for crimes when there is evidence. So go ahead and show it, that's what I've been saying since this entire thing began. But nooo, the USA can't compromise it's capabilities, so we should trust them on this one despite the history of lies. RF lies all the time too, but at least we have presented our side of the story, our radar data and invited the other side do the same.

All we got is a bunch of doctored photos and throthing rage, and if I insist on an actual investigation then I'm obviously sucking Putin's cock. Fuck all due process and a benefit of doubt.

 

A famous italian newspaper (fairly objective and neutral) has published an article giving some spaces to the hypothesis that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have shot down the plane

It is very interesting to see that the RF itself had urged the international iinvestigation team to publish their conclusions asap. However, the whole thing was hidden on western media and hardly any updates about the matter have been published eversince.

Back from Eastern Europe. Spent most of the time in Poland (mostly in Mazovia, but went for a bit to Silesia and Lesser Poland too). Also went to Bratislava and stayed there for one night, which was my first proper visit to Slovakia. The bus I took drove through the Czech Republic to get there, but I can't say I've really been there as that doesn't count, though Prague would certainly be an interesting destination for a holiday next year.

Anyway, I read through some of the things that have been posted here during my absence and I just wanted to give my view on the whole US/patriotism debate. Personally I think it's more than a bit silly to exclusively vilify the USA when many other states deserve plenty of spanking too. Moreover, the views of a government never completely reflect the views of the population. It's even sillier to assume that a country almost as large as the entirety of the European continent has a politically homogeneous population.

Everything one can say about a country's citizens without ever having visited it, let alone never having lived there, is a vast generalization. Of course, even if you do live in said country then you can't speak for the whole population as well due to regional differences and more, but you get my point.

Last but not least, I just wanted to say that "patriotism" is an inseparable part of the capitalist state and definitely not exclusive to the USA. One of the main reasons why we're not living in a classless utopia is because the bourgeois idea of nationalism was injected during the 19th century into the peasantry and working class to the point of becoming a popular idea among the majority. Nationalism is in every single state of the world as it is the core of popular support for the things people call nations and cultures.

Of course, nationalism and its various strains are stronger in some countries than others, but generally speaking Europe certainly isn't (proportionally) any less nationalist than the US - especially the Eastern section of the continent (e.g. Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and so on).

Because I haven't really been keeping completely with it, I thought the Russian aid convoy may have gone in to Donetsk, been shelled and Ukraine tried to hide its colossal fuck up with an imaginary report but I feel that's completely wrong
