What is happening with Russia and Ukraine now?

  1. Destroyed UA army vehicles on the DPR parade:

  2. I didn't get much time to read the articles earlier and just posted links here. Now here is a quick summary:

Ukraine claimed to have been fighting RF for six months now. They've had a lot of big victories and gained a lot of ground. Now they claim that Russia actually invaded this time and they are on retreat.

Media outlets are being sensationalist, but at least they put quotation marks over the claims:

That claim about dead Russian soldiers buried in secret seems questionable, as there is no actual proof other than:

And since there is a long history of lies from either side, we need some tangible proof other than "I saw it, trust me on this".

EDIT: Darkbringer, I just noticed we've posted the same article with different names. Mine isn't editorialized though.

My title was not editorialized, it was the name of the article at the time ;)

  4. So CNN changes it at will, good to know.

Common practice to update the name of a news article as the situation it describes changes. Maybe Russia Today does not use this, but I know my local news outlets do it as well, even when the subject is much less pressing than the conflict in Ukraine.

  6. I wouldn't know if RT does it, I don't watch or read news from RT at all unless they are the only source. Usually I stick to EU media only.

I always assumed it's customary to just post another article with updates unless they are small and/or very frequent, in which case it is marked with "Live" updates.

Putin threatened nuclear war. :/ As fun as M2033 is, I'd rather NOT experience it in real life.

US like nuke, Russia like nuke, UK like nuke, France like nuke, NATO like nuke, China like nuke, India like nuke, Pakistan like nuke, DPRK like nuke, Israel like nuke... we gonna have big nuke party.

  11. Sensationalist and out of context. Direct quotes from Seliger-2014 conference:

That's it. Passive-agressive, poor choice of words, but this is in not exactly Kruschev's "WE WILL BURY YOU" that the media is trying to push. There was absolutely no reason to bring the nukes up, but since this conference was a televised Q&A for RF it seems to be another public stunt. The entire conference (2 hours) is freely available on the internet, anyone can check it out.
