Let's hope it lasts and they finally settle this peacefully. Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts should imply be allowed independence (regardless of how close they want to ally themselves with Russia), whilst the rest of Ukraine should remain as it is and be free to join NATO + EU without further flexing from Russia. Hopefully that would at least end the bloodshed. Btw, am I the only one thinking that NATO's name is pretty damn stupid and outdated now? Considering that plenty of their member states are in Eastern Europe and don't even have borders near the North Atlantic Ocean?

  5. It won't. Last time a ceasefire was used by all sides to regroup.

    It's still accurate.

  6. UK will lead new rapid reaction force to curb Russian aggression in eastern Europe (By the end of 2015).

All bark and no bite. There doesn't seem to be the political will to fight a war despite the ability to do so in UK. If there was war in the baltics, the rapid reaction force will react rapidly backwards and be home in time for tea. Besides, what just 4000 troops can achieve when Ivans on tanks roll in over the border? Give a casus belli and die?

European Union imposes new sanctions on Russia. One more sanction and RF gets a free toaster :D

I'm still thinking that a komodo (A guy which oftens says that he want's all humans to die if I recall right.) and a smiley don't work together...:p

On topic: I don't think anyone except of putin wants a war. ;)
There are various sources which claim that there are russian soldiers in ukraine. Officials in russia claim that these soldiers are on holidays..

IMO it just comes down to putin being a dickhead because Ukraine doesn't want to suck it's dick anymore and replaced their goverment with anti-russian people.

While there might be nazis on the top of this demonstration doesn't mean that there really are that many. There are always extremists. In moscow there is a big pile of nais and no ne care, the governement even support them with anti-freespeech rules and anti human right laws, yet no one cares.

    I remember. :(

It doesn't if you count the various seas in Europe as seas rather than the Atlantic Ocean proper.

You are late with this stuff. Check the last 30 pages for discussions on those points.

  13. Far right groups exist in most countries.

The main difference here is that neo-nazi groups in Moscow are not funded by the government during and after a coup d'etat and aren't sent to deal with civilian population (Yet).

Also I thought that Whataboutism is prohibited, or is it only forbidden when Russia uses it?

    EDIT: A typo.

I find it hilarious how there is no section for Poland, especially considering how quickly fascist groups have grown there since the 1990s (some could even be considered paramilitaries). Of course, not all of said groups are explicitly neo-Nazi, but a fair few of them are. In total there are plenty of dangerous far-right street movements in Poland, although it's nowhere near the amount of that stuff you get in Russia so it's considerably safer. Not sure how it compares against Ukraine's fash though.

  16. Well, the polish version of the page has some info on Poland.

And it's even more pathetic. All it says is a bunch huge generalizations and some straight up lies. It says that neo-Nazis in Poland generally belong to an international neo-Nazi movement. They "show hostility towards Christianity and even towards nationalism"; it also says that neo-Nazis in Poland regard Polish culture and tradition with contempt, and that (because they sometimes use the German language in their publications) they fulfill the role of a Germanizing agent. The rest of it is just what laws say about Nazism, use of totalitarian signs, bla bla bla.

The first thing wrong with that page is that is makes no mention of any specfic neo-Nazi organizations operating in Poland (e.g. when they speak of "international neo-Nazism", they could list the Polish branches of Blood & Honour and Combat 18). Secondly, all of these are generalizations that disregard the diversity of neo-Nazi movements and the fact that they do not function as one body - sometimes disagreeing with one another. Moreover, certainly not all neo-Nazis are hostile towards Christianity and none of them are hostile towards nationalism as it is an integral part of their ideology (they just sometimes clash with other nationalist organizations). Last but not least, it is bullshit that all neo-Nazis in Poland regard Polish culture and tradition with contempt and the truth is very much the opposite... even though it may often look like a farce, considering how closely linked Poland's history is with resisting and fighting back the Nazi oppressor. And the use of German by most neo-Nazis isn't very widespread and doesn't replace Polish, it's certainly Germanophilic (although only in the Nazi sense) but they don't want to rebuild the Third Reich. Slavic neo-Nazis take the basis of Nazi ideology and apply it to their own culture, seeing themselves as the Aryan race rather than the subhumans that the NSDAP deemed them during the first half of the 20th century.

Anyway, neo-Nazi organizations in Poland aren't that numerous (although they are the extremely dangerous ones). Far-right nationalist organizations that often draw inspiration from the Hitlerites but usually aren't explicitly neo-Nazi (though may or may not call themselves fascist) are much more popular and numerous. They sometimes have a similar style and even do the "Roman" salute. Such as these guys:

However, you generally won't read much on Wikipedia about any problems Poland has, unless the page you're looking at is dedicated solely to the given subject and even then there's often a lot of beating around the bush. This is due to a seemingly large gang of pricks who treat Wikipedia as an opportunity to promote Poland. The best example that I know of would be the article about Poland itself. Have a read beyond the fancy intro overloaded with numerical data, move on to the contemporary topics and you'll notice it reads more like an extremely biased travel guide/tourist brochure instead of an encyclopedia. Much of it lacks sources as well. It's an extremely poorly written article devoted to showcasing Poland's huge breasts and ignoring its venereal diseases. And there's a group of people, usually the same people, who seem to spend much of their time keeping this as it is.

Aaaand I just realized how off-topic this is.
