What is happening with Russia and Ukraine now?

A good documentary. I watched 30 minutes in and I was kept interested the entire time. I will have to watch the rest of it later.

  2. The ending with Nuland's speech and the contrast it shows is chilling.

  4. I've tidied up the links in your post.

Edit: Alright, it seems that the forums are acting up again.

  5. Russia Won’t Accept Terms to End Sanctions Over Ukraine. Russia has been told to comply with various criteria before the U.S. and its allies revoke the limitations, Sergei Lavrov said in a transcript of an NTV interview posted yesterday on the ministry’s website. “We respond very simply: we shall not agree to any criteria or conditions,” Lavrov said. “Russia is doing more than anyone else to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.”

Pretty strange. Maybe their plan on winning is by buying all of Russia's natural gas and their supplier(s) gas, and holding it all to themselves until Russia realizes they need the gas and agree to end the war with Ukraine in exchange for the gas. :/

and yeah, the forum is acting weird, again.

What the fuck? This is some of the highest level of unprofessionalism I have seen in any army, and I have seen the Afghan army. I wonder why the Russians support these guys?

  9. That's how they psychologically train their people. They do that so their soldiers do not panic during the actual fighting when it can cost them and others their lives. Moral implications aside, this is actually pretty reasonable, albeit over the top, nobody needs pansies on the frontline. Check these out too, testing bulletproof vests with live ammunition and burying volunteers alive with a straw to breathe through for a few hours:

    - What happens if something goes wrong and somebody gets killed?
    - Well, we don't need people with bad luck.

What became of psychological training through drills and espirit d'corps?
I guess it is not too unlike the training of regular Russian soldiers, with a lot of focus on the mental strentgh and creativity of the individual.
Also I do realize that simulated attacks are a part of military training, however this seemed to be live ammo? Most militaries I know employ a lot of caution when using live ammo - these guys are actively shooting towards their own people. And they enjoy it and laugh like it's a comedy.

Why would militaries ever use live ammo? Dead ammo is much better :twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch::twitch:

A military boot-camp that focuses on training you to breathe through a snorkel is dumb. It's not that difficult nor scary. Scuba divers do it all the time. The only difference is, that in one situation, you're submerged in water and the other you're cover in dirt.

Wearing a bullet proof vest and having it get shot at to see if it stop a bullet is useless too. Might as well grab a pencil and write with it to see if it writes like a pencil.

And the first video, which Darkbringer put up, was the dumbest. Risking other people's lives by acting stupid solely for entertainment is dump. Those guys should get replace with people who are productive and take their job seriously.

  16. I'm sure the people who have been fighting for their lives for half a year now will change the way they operate because armchair generals like you and I think the way they train their army a bit too harsh.

I agree. But although I would love to see this bloodshed stopped, I don't think the world will appreciate a direct RF intervention.

The Ukrainian military has used cluster munitions numerous times in its conflict with pro-Russian separatists, likely scattering deadly bombs that did not immediately explode and putting civilians at risk, Human Rights Watch said in a new report.

Honestly I can understand that the military might get bored sometimes, what's wrong with having a little fun? I mean if our soldiers just happens to shoot a few civilians in some shit-slinging country they probably deserved it anyway..

Just saying, if RF ever does decide to go full force, with time -hopefully- people will eventually think of it as another topic in a history book. Of course, there are enthusiasts who don’t take something that happened long ago between countries very lightly -even if the people surrounding a specific, traumatic, historic event are dead and their beliefs are no longer being practiced.

I propose an epic Tetris battle between Russia and Ukraine.
