I hope you're right. Enough people have died ever since this began with the coup in Kiev. Obviously, in terms of statistics it is nothing like Syria or conflicts that are taking place in other parts of the world, but this is quite closer so it makes you think more about it.

  2. I think Putin tried to pull the bloodless annexation to contrast with the Kiev bloody riots.

There is a reason why the RF army is now called "Polite people".

I know that the way RF took Crimea was relatively violence-free, but there were still incidents that resulted in deaths and now the whole unrest in the country is causing more violence. Of course, right now most of the blood is on the hands of the Ukrainian army, but I can't say that the Russian government is free of guilt as they keep sticking their nose into Ukraine and just make things worse. I wouldn't rely too much on the media over there anyway. In the West, Russian interference is shown as negatively as possible in the mainstream - whilst in the Russian mainstream media, it will obviously be shown as positively as possible.

I find reuters is the most unbiased with news like that as their articles don't really put blame on anyone except in the case of the burning down of that building

You should view it as a conflict of interests though. Neither side is white and the other black. Both are ambiguously gray and both sides have a justifiable reason for fighting (The other side wants them dead).

    EDIT: Meanwhile democracy:

Simon Ostrovsky is the worst reporter ever, though.
In his previous videos he did all he could to prove his own assumption that the pro-russians were the "bad guys" , and then he analysed everything with that assumption.

Just the fact that in that video he defines the National guard as people that "just some weeks ago were peacuful protestors".....

I agree that Ostrovsky has always been leaning towards the Ukrainian government's side ever since this began, but I've seen much worse reporters... much, much, much worse. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were peaceful protesters - there's no reason to label and put all of these people in the same basket. Although the self-defence of the Maidan were a nationalist group too, they were actually quite moderate compared to Right Sector and I remember seeing videos where members of self-defence were shitting themselves at the mere thought of ever having to fight against the Right Sector. I still don't support them, I'm just saying that it's a bit like Młodzież Wszechpolska and Obóz Narodowy Radykalny (though self-defence and Right Sector have been much more dangerous recently).

  13. In an amazing turn of events two women have neutralized a company of the UA army.

Two hundred and twenty soldiers had to go to the STD clinic with gonorrhea after having their way with two chicks from Lybimovka village who organised some "leisure time" for them.

    EDIT: Typo.

  15. The village is right next to Crimea, so it's obvious that the girls were two undercover FSB colonels in disguise.

Sounds exactly like something my father would say... or a very restrained version of what my grandmother from my father's side would say. :p Actually, since I'm going Poland in two months, it will be very funny to hear my grandmother's rants on the whole matter when I visit her.

Thread: What is happening with Russian Ukraine now?

Its very bad thing for everyone people fight with each other at no reason

  18. Sooo.... They have spend almost half a year protesting and rioting against oligarchs.

Then they went and elected an oligarch as a new president (That looks exactly like the last one BTW).

And whoever points out that they are now back at point one (For the fifth time in a row) with a civil war on their hands is a provocateur and a paid russian shill.

    :derp:

Parliamentary politics has always been shite, with an extra twist of bullshit in Eastern Europe.

  20. Meanwhile Obama says: Our ability to shape world opinion helped isolate Russia right away. Because of American leadership, the world immediately condemned the Russian actions.

[News article] [Transcript of the speech]

    Holy fucking shit.
