My favorite type of building block is either dark oak wood(planks included) or a combination of Sandstone and Nether Brick, which looks extremely good if you know what you're doing!

I like obsidian, and the dungeon block type. Mainly for their colors and vast list of things you can build with them (and still look good); also because obsidian is hard to break!

I love the challenge of building with sand or cobblestone generated from water and lava. Some of the buildings I have been most proud of were full cobblestone palaces that were put together with just 2 buckets of water and 1 bucket of lava.

I love cobblestone. Perfect for building cozy houses that glow at night to keep the zombies away :)

I believe that wooden planks are the best building material/block in Minecraft. That's because they look the nicest. However, they're obviously quite flammable so I think that people passing on servers shouldn't do that.

And that's what I wanted to say. Wooden planks are really nice looking but they are unfortunately flammable. I remember when I was playing with my 12 years old friend. He ignited one piece of wood for fun. Guess what then? I was homeless.

Perfect building block for me is wood. The color variations of it is totally beautiful, and it's a perfect block for start houses. If I had to choose a second, I think it would be gold.

Stone bricks are really versatile and useful, which is nice. I do love wool though. It's very nice and easy to get/dye.

I really like quartz because it's really classy. I like neutral colors which are more realistic as my builds tend towards a realism theme.

A combination of stone, cobblestone and oak. I do this because of how common they are and they are relatively aesthetically pleasing. Other common materials don't stack up to it and I don't have much things like wool early in the game to make a particularly stylized base.

Oak wood and planks. I don't know why, but it just looks very attractive when a house is made out of wood and planks for me. :p

I always loved utilizing wooden logs as corner pieces. Using them as corners pieces, in combination with smooth and cobble stone. It always looked so great!

Cobblestone. It's easy to acquire, easy to use, easy to break, looks really nice on most constructions and it doesn't get damaged from lava and the such. The best things in life are often the simplest ones.

I feel the same way. Most homes (or at least mine) have hardwood floors so for me, it feels like I'm replicating my house in real life. Also, it does look really cozy and somewhere that you can call a home.

I definitely agree with you on the stone bricks. They're a really good looking block for relatively low work. Their four-piece design just looks really good and they blend in so well with one another. It's a really solid choice for building homes and from a scientific aspect, they can't be burned by fire, so that's always a plus!

Yeah, other than a very few select blocks, I think that wood is one of the nicer looking blocks in the game. Also, it's really easy to obtain in the beginning. Chances are you spawned next to a tree and there you go, you can build your home already. Also, what is your favorite wood color?

I can't say that I agree with you on the mossy stone. I think it looks really messy for houses. But, I agree with you on the the fact that it does work really well for large castles. For me, it gives a very Castlevania feel to me. Other than a few niche builds, I don't think mossy cobblestone has much other uses.

I think that the base stone can be really good looking in certain texture packs. For the most part, if you're rocking vanilla, then I think that there are a few other nicer looking blocks, but in some texture packs, stone is intentionally made to look really good so that you can build a house with it (it's really easy to obtain) and it would look phenomenal.

Haha, I don't think that I've ever heard somebody like a block because of the sound that it makes when you place it. I think wool just looks good, especially if you dye it like a rainbow and have a row of every color. In my houses, I always make sure to have a wool room just to show off.
