I really like the games that use Mp but still have a dose of reality to them. Those games where my line-up consists of A Mage, A thief with a gun, a bad ass sword wielder and some kind of creature that dosen't exist in the real world. I like the perfect combination of real and fantasy. And if it's set in the future, I like for it to look post apocalyptic as opposed to super shiny and new. I'm picky if you couldn't tell by now.

I can pretty much enjoy any sort of game, but I won't lie: fantasy is my favourite. Often games which are as fantastical as possible - that is, as unlike this current modern world as possible - are the ones I enjoy the most. This means magic, non-humanoid characters, and any time which isn't modern.

But I don't know if that's simply because there are very few modern games I actually enjoy. I'm not opposed to the idea of guns, but almost every single modern game is just button mashing and gratuitous violence/explosions. It gets old really quickly.

Human with firearms is the way to go. It's a bit more realistic that elves ad other creatures. It feels cartoonish to me. I believe that they must bring these changes to save the traditional MMOs.

I prefer those worlds that are set in ancient times and has some cool magical things. I also love it when RPG's tend to break the norm and instead of having magical stuff they come up with a different thing.

Personally I like the "Star Wars Formula"... futuristic, sci-fi tech and worlds... but its still a long, long time ago. lol. And of course we need multiple races!! You give me a modern set game with only humans and I'm going to fall asleep. *YAWN* Without races what seperates players? Nationality? That just feels a little too "real-world, hate-crimey" for me. Now taking the races concept and breaking it into different species of aliens or even throw some robots in the mix and we have a party...but there better be space travel...and battles!

My setting would be futuristic. There are just too many games set up in medieval times and based on fantasy. It has been way overdone, and more are piling on all the time. There are a handful of "space" MMORPGs out there, but small by comparison. I cannot think of a single online community that has only one race. I think it would be necessary to have variety. In my preferences that would mean aliens, of course. One element I would like to add to space gaming is a little more realistic time to reach other systems. To keep players from getting bored the travel time could be used (with views within the ship)for individual skills that could be worked on.

I prefer a combination of an ancient world and a futuristic world because I think it will fill the game with wonder. It could probably reassemble Xenogears - a game that perfectly mixed ancient civilization with modern civilization. It could contain magic or firearms or any other weapon. I would like it to have more ancient parts though :)

I like how you think Lindbergh. I have often thought that a DVD game would be extremely cool if it was based on time travel. There have been some weak attempts in the past, but nothing I found to be very good. An online version might work even better. Players could choose their time period when they created characters and crossing between worlds would only be possible after leveling up.

I'm pretty flexible about what they fight with. However, if given the choice I would fight with both guns and magic. I like to be something I'm not in a game, so elves. If I have those options, it's already winning some points with me in my book. Now, add a good story and fighting mechanics to it and you have yourself a gaming pal with me.

I have to admit that I prefer fantasy because it seems like you can have a little more variety. Sci-Fi seems a little pigeon holed with how things should look and what kind of clothes that are worn. I like the genre, but there's a lack of primalness that fantasy offers.

I like to have a Modern Time MMO because all the games I played are based on the past or something fantasy. I want something new.

Ancient times with a hint of magic and I'm set. I wish someone would make a game about Egyptian culture with magic and stuff. Even though I love sci-fi, this is one of my dreams.
I'd also be happy with an MMO set in the Victorian-era, a dark setting with some horror.

Set in Medieval Times definitely. I'm a big fan of history, and medieval times in particular. Sprinkle some beasts into forests and long, dangerous roads that you'll be afraid to walk on, which maybe connect castles/towns, and you've got me buying your game/map.

I love world enviroments similar to the world of The Lord of the rings, and all that involves the middle age. Of course, with fantasy creatures (elves, dwarfs etc) but if the ambientation is fine, I could accept also futuristic worlds, it depends on the game.

I would prefer a mixture of everything actually but I really love the medieval sort of dragons and mages type of thing. Granted it's pretty worn out by now but it still pretty fun to live into.

I like the old Fantasy style setting that is present in games such as Guild Wars, WoW, and Everquest. The only MMO I got into from the future was an MMORTS called Shattered Galaxy that I played in 2000-2001. The beta was great but it went downhill fast after its full release.

I like old worlds with multiple races and magic and guns and everything else. There's no reason why these things should be limited to a copy of the real world. The weirder the better for me, specially if there are plenty of exciting things to discover and do.
