    Shadow of Chernobyl for the atmosphere and 'jump out of your skin' moments.

    Call of Prypiat has them too, don't get me wrong. In fact is the one I've played the most and my favourite of the series.

    however, which ever one you get, play it unmodded first, and as Strelok said, buy it, don't download it for free. that affects the whole honest gaming community when developers put constant DRM to play a game for example. what if I don't have a reliable internet connection? does it mean I can't play my favourite game?

    know what I mean?

    as Sidorovich would say 'what the hell Marked One?!'

    it doesn't look likely, but you never know. perhaps Vostok Games will retake it.

    Buy it in this order -

    Clear Sky
    Shadow of Chernobyl
    Call of Pripyat

    That is the most logical way of playing. :D

    Also download the mods which go by name of Stalker Clear Sky Complete, etc

    It adds several new features to the game! :D

    I love SoC, and I also have CoP but CoP won't load up due to a Steam glitch...argh!

    I absolutely love the whole nuclear wasteland/apocalyptic settings for STALKER and Metro series.

    complete is great for SoC, and ok for CS, but is very buggy for CoP.

    @Bourbon:

    have you check the stem community for your glitch with CoP? also check out GSC Game World official forum. we have lots of threads about CoP and geniuses there that I'm sure will be able to help you.

    Complete is buggy for COP because of the atmosfear thingy, you haveto download the atmosphere file separately and then over write the existing files or simply change the weather from the main menu.

    Complete is just a set of graphic changes mod. you can download Absolute Nature 3 and Absolute Structures, and Atmosfear 3 and you get even better results without the buggines Complete has. they are all compatible with each other, so you don't have to go applying patches to them.

    Shadow of chernobyl for sure! best environment even though there were a few loading screens, the weapons wearnt that bad but the oblvion lost mod added heaps more things into the gam even added and changed the storyline a little bit, so for me it will be SOC but if you would like another recommendation go for call of priptyat! happy gaming stalker ;)
