The very first thing that came to my mind was the fact that the graphics weren't good, I almost didn't go through with it I couldn't figure out why people actually had such a high opinion of it. Then the game sort of grew on me and before I knew it I was hooked on it 24/7.

My first thoughts were that the graphics were horrible and it looke too childish. Thank goodness I didn't follow my thoughts, otherwise I would've missed out on such a good game.

The first time I heard about Minecraft was when I used to play Runescape. It was a pretty big hype among my friends over there for some reason, and I'd always hear them talk about them playing in like alpha or beta version of it.

At first, I didn't even know what the game was about, and yet I had bad impressions of the game. It was like I felt that it was some super technical game (I can't pinpoint where I got this impression from, but I got it from somewhere for sure) that required you to put in a lot of effort (that showed, anyways) to play effectively.

I'm glad to say that's not the case, and I love the game even more than Runescape!

At first, I thought the graphics were awful too. But then I realised the game had a lot of potential because of its gameplay and the creativity that surrounds it. That's when I got hooked to it.

I also heard about MineCraft on various other MMO's, I didn't really bother listening to them until the 1.6 beta, where I finally decided to give it a try and boy did I have some fun.

I ended up buying in on early alpha or beta or whenever preorders were first up and I ended up playing it all day.

I thought 'This is a horrible game, never going to try it.' Boy, what was I thinking. I love the game now; will always be addicted.

When I first saw my friends playing it, I thought it looked pretty dull and boring. I wondered why they played it so much because the graphics aren't all that. I saw how much fun it was to create things and share them with other people and I fell in love!

I thought this was the most boring game conceived. Like, you place blocks and break it? That's literally got to be the most numb minding game ever. My friends were telling me to play it and I was interested in it and I got into it more and more. The addiction is the feeling of accomplishment, when you gather the resources and build your masterpiece and you bascially reward yourself. The feeling is sort of like Dark Souls (some people will know what I'm talking about). I think everyone's first impression about this game was that it was some over hyped kid's game, but as I play it and as I get into it, it's not like at all. It's a the most innovative and creative game since SimCity.

My first impression was that I don't like the graphics. And today, I'm used to it.

Like many here, my first impression was "Why would I want to play a game with such horrible graphics?"

But when I finally caved, I started to understand what all the hype was about and actually appreciate what the pixel graphics add to the game. Its absolutely a game you need to play for yourself or you won't get why so many people play and enjoy it.

The first time I played it was sometime in 2011 after my wife introduced it to me. At the time, I felt that the game was pretty pathetic, slow and unappealing visually. Playing through a browser turned me off as well. Then I totally forgot about it.

About a year later, my nephew showed me some videos and constantly talked about Minecraft in front of me with my cousins and other nephews and one thing lead to another, I impulsively bought the standalone game. I had totally forgot that I had played the game before, but my wife reminded me. Then I remembered the crappy visuals and the basic game play and smiled. I smiled because the game as a standalone client opened up to mods and texture packs. So that improved the appeal. Plus, it wasn't through a browser.

With that said, my first impression after forgetting about it was that I knew this was a game that will get me hooked somehow. It had a simple premise: mine and build. Yet, it was far greater than just that. I do not regret purchasing the game. It has brought my countless hours of fun.

I was really confused because I didn't know what to do at all! I found the wiki and then got the hang of the game!

Even from my first moments of playing I really loved the game. The enviroment is very relaxing.

I literally had no first impression. I saw it on Xbox Live one day and decided to download it and start playing. It was just another game I stumbled across and decided to play without any prior knowledge or judgments.

I thought it would not take a lot of memory on my computer. I was confused at first but my girlfriend helped me out.

I thought it was interesting from the start, but didn't think I'd like it quite as much as I actually did.

Good question! haha My friends showed this to me and I was like: wtf is this? But when I really gave it a try I end up loving the creative process you develop and the game itself! :D

I really thought it was a kid's game. I picked it up and gave it a shot, but didn't have enough patience for it at the time I guess. Now I would be completely lost in the sauce. I would like to post back once I start playing again.

Looked like the most boring game to be created ever. On top of that, the graphics were like nothing i've seen before, in a very bad way!! But then I eventually played it to see what all the hype was about and I loved it, I didn't even mind the graphics, it's what makes Minecraft uniquie.

The first time I played it I was in somewhat of a bad mood so I absolutely HATED it. But with some peer pressure I gave it another chance and instantly fell in love with the game.
