When I first heard about it, i was under he impression that it's just some other casual Indie developer trying to be famous by creating something utterly ridiculous, but when I started playing it, I realized what it really was!

Initially I thought the game was terrible. When my friend told me about it, I thought it would be like Runescape for some reason. But once I watched game plays and tried the game out myself, I was very impressed with it!

If im completely honest, I had hoped for more depth and a greater emphasis on survival. Once you have built your first 4x4 hovel, you really dont have a lot to worry about. It would be nice to have more than creativity as an incentive to build all the interesting contraptions that are possible.

The first time I played it, years ago, I was hooked! I spent more hours on the game than I did anything else. I'm just a little burned out at the moment. I'm waiting for new material right now.

LOL! The first time I saw my teenage son playing mine craft I was like...WTH, I buy you all these expensive consoles an upgrade your pc with the latest graphics cards and you playing an elementary school game! At least that's what it looked like at the time :). It took me a few days to come around and even sit down and give the concept a chance... now I'm hooked! Which reminds me... I have to go check my floating island with cows on it...BRB!

That it's scary and hard. I started playing when the alpha came out and I knew nothing about surviving in the game. Needless to say I didn't survive the first night. Then I started watching paulsoaresjr's videos and I got better over time, I still love the game but I don't play it that much anymore.

At first I thought it was just like Super Mario, thought it was just a simple game with not much to do. But then as my younger cousin played it again and again on our computer. Watching him build things and combine elements to come up with new items. At that time I then thought it was a cool game. There;s no limit on what you could do. You can everything you imagine in the game. The coolest part would be the weapons and fighting off zombies. Addicting game overall.

I found it very very stupid at fist. My friends started playing it and I would always laugh at them for playing children games. Then I played it myself. Oh god... I probably played the game more than all of my friends combined..

I love it. Since my dream career is to be a Architect and Minecraft really gives me a platform to build my own dream. Therefore, I really like this kind of game and you just need to build your dream building block by block. That is really fun.

My first impression was of ambivalence. I already knew of a free block-based builders before. So, I thought this was a nice novelty, mainly because of the addition of the survival mode and relatively scary/tough enemies. But, once I heard of all the creative mods that were being developed for this game, my impression of this game grew positively significantly. I still may not enjoy playing the base game but, I think many of the mods rock.

When I first saw it I said "what the hell is that ****". Yes, that exact phrase. I didn't even bother with it at first. Instead I watched others play it at first and realized what the game was about. THEN I gave it more of a chance.

I first stumbled upon Minecraft on Xbox while I played with my boyfriend and our friends. I really didn't get the concept and didn't really understand it until a few hours later. But I quickly got addicted to the game. I ended up watching minecraft videos while I played on Xbox, and that's how I got introduced to PC Minecraft and mods. Once I found mods, I never looked back. Vanilla really isn't fun.

I didn't relally see the appeal until my brother forced me to play it a few times. Even now there are days where I couldn't sit and play it, but there really is something exciting about seeing a project come together. Its a very simple game in that respect, but it feels good to complete a big project, even if you decide afterwards to burn it down :p

At first glance, I definitely was not really impressed with the game. I mean, everything being so blocky and pixelated, it was just boring to the eye. I finally started watching some of my favorite YouTubers playing the game and got a little more into it. It wasn't until I found friends to play the game that I actually downloaded it myself and started playing. It's not as bad as I thought it was.

Because all of my friends had been playing Minecraft for some time, diving into Minecraft was exhilarating. I have to admit that the advertising is super effective, and I probably wouldn't even play if none of my friends had urged me to. If I know other people play it, it's more fun to me. So yes I have spent a lot of time on Minecraft and had fun with it! XD

I didn't like it at first. I thought it was a game made for kids that doesn't serve real purpose.
I've grown to like it after I had played it for some time.

My first though was, this game is so stupid, I don't see why it is so popular. I finally downloaded it, and now I am addicted to it.

This question was well thought out, I like it. Minecraft was something that I didn't even know about until years after it came out. I personally found out about it while watching YouTube videos. My initial thought was, "wow, these graphics are hideous" I actually walked away from the game when I first saw it, I was being so critical that I missed the entire point of the game. Later on, though, I actually gave it a chance and started playing it. I was certainly in the wrong for my original opinion. This game was highly addictive! Once I started playing minecraft I could not stop. I'm glad I was able to give it another go because first opinions are terrible at times.

I thought it was really weird. I've never seen anything like it before. Then i started hitting things and discovered you can makes things from the things you just broke and then an addiction started. And as they say, the rest is history.

I remember mostly ignoring the game when it first came out on PC and started to get popular. I saw it as a game that lacked variety and was little more than a sandbox survival game. The graphical aesthetic was also somewhat displeasing. I didn't actually put serious time into the game until the console version came around. See, I'm the type of person who enjoys multiplayer with a core group of friends. And having mostly console-owning friends meant that Minecraft became a nexus point for our social group. We spent hours building a sprawling city with a railway network between our houses, and it was these things that made me start to love the game. Transferring it over to the Xbox One version was a bit interesting, and by that I mean frustrating. We don't play it as much anymore but we still load up that world on the Xbox One every once in a while.

The modding community on PC is really what made the game for most people. Without that innovation from the community, Minecraft would not be as big as it is today.
