What weapon do you prefer?

I tend to use a sword in PvPing, simply because it does WAY more damage. Although, I find the bow a lot more satisfying and for long range shots it is great for running away. I always have both on me at all times and I fill the rest of my inventory with potions.

 

Well I would prefer a diamond sword with buffs on it but realistically I use an iron sword the most

 

On servers that run Mcmmo i prefer to use axes. but in SSP i prefer the sword its just a good thing for chopping the heads of annoying creepers!

 

Lava bucket is probably one of my favorite weapon to use. It does alot of damage if used correctly. However using a lava bucket means that the lava can kill you also. So be aware of where you place lava. I usually remove the lava when the opponent has taken a lot of damage and then I pull out my sword to do damage.

 

I always stick it to the bow. Sure, it's hell getting arrows but it pays off. There's long range, high damage, what's not to like?

At the beginning of the game though, before I have arrows, I find a stone sword is enough to take out pretty much anything you'll encounter.

 

Enchanted Diamond Sword would have to be my preference. I like using Bows as well for distance, but in the en, I love using Swords the most. I like close combat situations and I like instantly destroying mobs.

 

Diamond Sword is the best weapon! An enchanted Diamond Sword is even better! One with Sharpness 5, Unbreaking 3, Looting 3, Fire Aspect 2, Knock back 2. I heard that Diamond Axes were stronger than Diamond Swords from a PVP server, but I'm not sure if that's quite true or not. Anyone know?

 

I use a Sword/Bow combo usually. The bow is only really for sniping those stupid Skeletons that try to hide behind trees or some form of block. I just like to melee most things as it makes me feel like a true warrior! Huzzah!

 

My personal preference is the sword. I just can't imagine using a bow as my primary weapon when in a factions server ,especially when someone is hacking and slashing rapidly at me in close range. Sure, a bow does inflict a hefty load of harm onto the unsuspecting victim, but it's just not practical when involved in intense faction wars when everyone is busily spamming clicks and trying to throw as much damage on each other as possible. A bow can never match the power and speed of a sharpness iv diamond sword, as a bow shoots at a rate of about once per 2 seconds for full power. However, the choice of weapons is subjective in this case as I usually want to use a bow when killing off that one non-armoured victim trying to mine resources far at a distance away, while I would usually use a sword when in fast paced combats. However, I just feel that the sword is the greater choice overall as it can be crafted early in the game and easier to use.

I'd say bow if it wasn't for me always running out of arrows, so I'll have to go with a sword. And I, like JackHaal and ACN, just suck at aiming

 

I'm horrible with the bow, so the sword is my only option. It's strong, plain and simple to use.

 

Bow. My favorite weapon in the game. It's easy to kill mobs and you can't get hit by them.

 

Give me a diamond sword and I'll get the job done. The bow is fine, but I'd rather just run into the fray and take care of mobs, whether they're creepers or skeletons or something else.
