Think of it this way, Odessa. You'll have a real excuse to avoid the whole "I love you!, no, I love you!" while the rest of the single world spend 24 hours in an awkward dystopia...

I went back to writing my book yesterday... it was hard to get back into, but now it feels great to continue.

That's me almost every day. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to stick with something like a novel, once you've started it. 126 pages seems like a lot of progress at the moment, but I aim to have two parts of the story... and I'm only getting close to the last two chapters of the first part.

I always wondered what it actually did... is the Kindle just for reading books, or does it have any other uses? From what I know it's basically like a tablet though only for reading, but I know very little about it. :p

Well, it's not even finished yet. I'm calling it "Kalinka", for reasons that are explained in the novel, though I might change the name once I finish it. Anyway, I'm writing it in Polish and I'd like to translate it to English someday, but who knows when that will happen. :p I want to send it to Dmitry Glukhovsky and try to get it released as part of the "Universe of Metro 2033" book series, but it's probably gonna take a year or two more to get everything done. :)

I've actually recently been wondering about this novel/book of yours. Good to hear that you haven't given it up :)

I've played Half-Life 2 Role-Play (HL2RP) for about three years, and the absolute first character that I created was also the last character I used. He went through a lot, for three long years, meeting a heckload of other characters, making friends with them, to then see them die and disappear one by one. I'm of course talking about Benjamin.

I find the story rather epic, and I remember most of all that happened, but I'm slowly but surely forgetting more and more. Now, all that remains of that epic and untold story is the slight memory of my steam-friends, and my own fading memory. For two years, I've been wanting to write it down, to actually save the memories and turn it into a great story. And I should've done that a long time ago when I remembered it all. But I've been too lazy (and caught up with the HL2RP itself) to ever write it. I have actually written a lot, but I stopped at a certain point and I've never really had the motivation to continue and finish it, as it's less than half-finished. Now that I've already forgotten some of it, and am forgetting more and more, I think I've unfortunately given it up :/

On another note, I just bought some jewelleries in real silver for my girlfriend for 700Nok. (127$ / 94£). It's a lot for some minor jewelleries, but she's worth it :D

That is indeed a lot of money. :p Btw, just a heads-up: dollars and pounds are currencies that have their signs written before the numerical value. For example, fifteen pounds would be £15, whilst fifteen dollars would be $15... I know, it doesn't make any sense. I had to get used to this when I moved to England, since the Polish currency ("złoty") is also written after the numbers, though with a space in between - so fifteen złotych would be 15 zł.

Random fact: when handwriting, I always do the pound sign like this: ₤ which for some reason tends to piss off some of my British friends. I don't do it to annoy them - just out of habit. Never knew what the big deal was.

I've been spending a lot of time on the forum, and inevitably, my parents have discovered that. So they're repeatedly like "Why are you using all your time on that forum? What's so appealing about it?". I eventually let them know that I'm a moderator and that the forum might be official eventually and all that. My mother, a very religious person, is like "You shouldn't be social on the internet, it's unhealthy for your morality", and my economical and it's-very-important-to-be-successfull-in-life-like father repeatedly goes like "Well since you're working for the owner of that forum and using a lot of time to do so, why aren't you getting paid? You should tell them to pay you!".
    And I'm just like...

In other news, I made a ninja-star at mechanical school today. It's skew and awful, really, but it'd do the job if you know what I mean. I'm probably gonna make a better one which'll be as close to perfect as possible, on monday.

Well, I made something like this, just in a metal-color with lots of scratches and un-even areas, as well as being skew and not sharp at all, also missing the hole in the center.

So, I'm aiming to make the one below: I'll first cut out a square, then drill the holes at the correct areas, not just the center hole, but the six holes around, then cut out the spikes, sharpen it with a.... sharpener-machine-thing, polish it and perhaps even paint it ;)

Saturday night, my dad and I went to go pick up my sister from work (I was driving) and on the way back home the vehicle
    [IMG]
made a grrrr chhriclank clank clank noise when I was taking off at stop sign. I applied the brakes and for a while I thought that I had ran over a rock and it was just bouncing around underneath. My dad got off and checked, no rock, got back in telling me that it looked like the bracket holding the differential had busted. Turns out that wasn’t the problem. I put it on first and planned to take it slow the rest of the way home, but it continued to make the sound grrrr chhriclank clank clank, so we decided to push it around the corner, walk back home, and come back with my dad FJ40 to pull it home on neutral with a tow strap.

We got home and my dad and I went back to rescue the wagon. Everything was working as planned. We hooked it up to the FJ and I got it to steer as my dad pulled. Shortly after 150ft (45.72 m), I felt the left rear collapse. I thought that the tire had blown but when I looked out, it was gone! “Shit!” I exclaimed. I began yelling stop as I applied the breaks and honked the horn to alert my dad. When we came to a stop, we both got off and looked at the damage. The axle rod had sheered off and gear oil was spilling onto the street. I went to go retrieve the tire, which had rolled back about 60ft (18m), and look for container to catch the oil. When I got back to the vehicle, my dad said he’d go back to the house and get the Hi-Lift so we could remove the axle rod and replace it with a spare that we had lying around. While I waited for him to get back, I jumped the wall from a nearby school and found an empty water bottle to catch some of the oil. When my dad got back, we jacked up the wagon, put some jack stands underneath, turned on some flashlights, and got to work in the middle of the street (don’t worry, it was a residential street so traffic wasn’t heavy). It was a little bit bellow freezing and my hands became numb quickly so it was very difficult to work.

We were under there working for about an hour and a half. Progress was slow, but we were fortunately able to remove the broken axle rod. For the time spent underneath working on to remove it, several people stopped on the side of the road and offered us their help. Of course, we all knew that they wouldn’t do much if we actually accepted their help, but it was nice of them to lend us their hand anyway. Out of the group of people that stopped to ask us if we needed assistance, from the sound of her voice, was this old lady.

“Whoa.” She said. “I almost didn’t see you guys there. I could have hit you two. You’d better get outa the way or you can get hit!”

Are you serious lady? I thought. How can you not see us? You have your headlights on, there are streetlights on nearby, plus were walking around her in the dark with flashlights! AND THE SPEED LIMIT IS UNDER 30mi (48km)!

“We’re fine.” My dad replied. The lady then drove off.

15 min later, I continued to remove the final things that we needed so we could go back home and find the axle when a cop pulls around the corner and flashes his spotlight on at us. He pulls up next to us and asks about our situation. As my dad was answering him, I was thinking what the chances are that a cop was to be patrolling around in his squad car at this time at night and turn on the street we were working. Then after my dad finished speaking, the cop said, “Well, you can’t be working out here on the street like this, it’s dangerous. It’s hard for people to see you and they can end up hitting you.” He said the same exact thing that old lady said. She was the one who called us in and turned all of our hard work into nothing! Stupid lady. The cop then told us that we needed to get a tow truck out here or else he would have to call for one. He let us go back home and check in the phone book for the number of a tow truck company. Thankfully, we have a friend in the business, so we called him up and he showed up in 20 min. He towed the wagon to our house and parked it on the street.

Just yesterday, we finished putting the spare axle rod in the axle. No exact confirmation on why the rod broke, but from what we saw the next morning, some spot welds that my dad did 15 years ago on the rod and could have messed with the metals temper; thus weakening it and letting it wear down little by little every time we drove.
