I was just about to say: NEVER get Windows 8, but I'm glad others have beaten me to it.

There's nothing wrong with Windows 8, that's being silly calling it stupid. It performs better than Windows 7, and for those who are reluctant to change can always use various freeware programmes online to bring the Start button back.

From cold boot it takes me 6 seconds to boot into Windows and 2 seconds to shutdown using a SSD. Games and drivers all work great with it. There are loads of apps too for those who like the Metro Interface.

Unless you genuinely gave Win 8 a chance only then can you call it stupid. Don't just read what people on the internet say.

Looking over my list of parts at the moment, I think just might go hunt them down after all. However, can anybody recommend me a decent and (partially) transparent acrylic case with horizontal motherboard mounting? Must be able to fit Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II (25,4cm x 12,7cm x 4,8cm / 10" x 5" x 1,9").

That's still a vertical motherboard mount. And peas & rice! 400?! I'm looking for something that costs €150 or less.
