Anyone can take a game set in lovely tropical climate and make it look beautiful, but to make a game based in dull, damp, low lit, sewage system and make it look beautiful is an accomplishment and that is why Metro will always be better.

^ That. Very ture, so so very true.

On a side note though... Now that another publisher is going to take over, what do you all think will happen to the Limited Edition that THQ executed? Do you think the new publisher will remove the Limited Edition and put Ranger Hardcore back into the game, or will they let it stay the way it is?

  3. You know what? I'd prefer THQ.

Seeing as they would want to earn our trust they would most likely just put it in the game and give a sweet limited edition.

I hope this doesn't delay the game and also I hope that Joe lands on his feet with all the stuff that is happening with THQ at the moment.

I would prefer this to any other alternatives, but it's not realistic judging by the small size of 4A and the amount of money they have. Also, kickstarter; how many of the projects listed there have actually been completed? Sure, it's a good way for the devs to get money, but not for things to get done. Valve, Bethesda or Sega would be acceptable publishers for me, but a group like CD Projekt would be ideal. However, that also isn't realistic, since CD Projekt have never released a game outside of Poland... although, with the recent commercial success of The Witcher 2... who knows. Still, even with the money from CD Projekt RED's masterpiece, I doubt that they'd be able to come up with the cash needed to win the bidding.
Actually, there are very few (unless you mean visuals - which depends almost entirely on opinion). Many of us PC gamers, including the graphics whores, still drool over Metro 2033 and use it for benchmarking. Furthermore, Far Cry 3 may look better visually than Metro 2033 to some, but it definitely isn't more realistic in its environments. Far Cry 3's colour palette is gorgeous, but it's like something from a fairy tale and cannot compare with the realistic & taxing-on-the-system lightning design of Metro. Last Light looks even better than either of the two, in my opinion.
As would I, now that you mention it. Seeing as how Last Light is nearing its completion and 4A have been given a lot of freedom with its design, it would be nice if THQ survived long enough to release LL under its wing without selling it first.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

 No but in all seriousness, realistic or not, it wouldn't hurt them to try...

It's a multi platform game, they will need a publisher. I'd imagine they would need to pay THQ millions if they decided to do that too.

Forgive me and correct me if I'm wrong, but it would hurt them, would it not? I mean, they'd gamble it all by trying to self-publish the game. As they apparently don't have the money to self-publish it, they'd have to make a huge leap of faith by... I don't know, lending money from someone? And if they there-on would be unable to repay that, because Last Light didn't sell well enough, they'd go bankrupt..?

I have no damn idea about what Koch Media does, I have no damn idea about what games they have published and I know their name is boring as hell.
It appears from their website that they have little to no idea about publishing games
    http://www.kochmedia.com/games/publishing.html
I also just came to realize that they have published dead island and risen. Those are peanuts compared to the experience we would have got with SEGA :eek:hwell:
EDIT: They also published S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, but then again, it was pretty poorly promoted.
