Who has posters of Metro in their room?

Oh yeah, but it's always annoying to see a particular model that may not be available in your region.

 

^This. When I bought my S10 Gas Mask, the filter was already used, and I found myself coughing for a while after wearing the gas mask and brething through the filter. So I just hollowed out the filter. Simply gutted it and pulled out everything inside of it

 

Well, I can safely wear it without getting lung-cancer, but all the stuff inside the filter that is supposed to make me able to breathe in hazardous environments, are now gone. So no, it doesn't work properly now

 

Yeah, most of us don't really get masks to use them against gas attacks but just as a cool collector's item, cosplay stuff or modern militaria. I still need to get that M10 I wanted, but I can't because I'm saving up all the money I get to build a new gaming PC.

 

Ah, the M10 gas mask. I've wanted that for a while, but all that I have found are either in Beige instead of black or grey, or they are way too expensive. My friend have bought four gas masks so far, one of them being an M10 gas mask, but it's beige of course. I don't want it in beige. It looks a lot like the rangers' masks in Metro2033

Oh, and I wear my gas mask. When I'm following friends from my house to the bus-stop, playing airsoft and playing basketball. Haha

 

How do you actually gut it,without making it unusable?

Regarding Soviet gas masks,though, only models previous to the GP-5 (or filters made before the 1960) actually contain asbestos.

 

Are you absolutely sure about this? Is there a real way to confirm this? I'm not saying you're lying, but what if they did use asbestos after that? Is it really worth the risk?

 

I never said that I didn't make it unusable. There's no way to gut it without rendering it unusable unless you somehow refill it with new filter-contents. It's still wearable

Many scare stories have originated from various Russian gas masks and their filters that are now common in surplus stores; the GP-5 was often considered to have an asbestos filter, however like most cold-war masks it only contains activated charcoal.
Modern gas masks are quite safe and do not use asbestos, but it is still important to be careful when using a modern gas mask. Typically masks using 40mm connections are more recent design. Rubber also degrades with time so new in box "Modern type" masks can be cracked and leak.

I don't have any posters, but I recently have decided to go a bit metro-obsessed with one of my bedroom walls.


Instead of posters that advertise the game, I'm going for something that will give me more of a feeling of the Metro than an advert will, so I printed a heap of Metro 2033 and Last Light art, and a few game screenshots, and of course a map of the metro. I printed them on glossy photo paper, with plans to put each one in frames and hang them on my wall, so when I look at the wall of Metro art I'll get that special Metro feeling . I'm also awaiting delivery of a PMK gas mask to hang in the centre of them all, and keeping my eye out for anything else that would go well with it all...

 

I don't have any sort of Metro posters but I do have a map of Skyrim in my room.
