Who or what introduced you to Minecraft?

Markus persson did when Minecraft was 1.3 beta. He popped me an email and told me I should buy it, do I regret it? No. Since then I have played over 3000 hours and I officially own the " Anonymous " Username. Also building castles is quite fun you guys should try it.

 

Seananners, I remember his first Minecraft lets-plays.

I thought the game was great and I paid for it.

Best money spent in my life.

 

Actually was introduced to Minecraft from some of my guild members in World of Warcraft. They had their own private Minecraft server and asked me if I wanted to come join in and play. So I got the game and was just utterly confused for awhile about what the heck you were supposed to do in the game.

 

Was introduced to Minecraft by a lot of people actually. First it was my uncle, who was using Minecraft as a tool for his sons to play with. Say a virtual Lego if you will. I was just amazed by it and decided to try it. Rest is history.

 

Thanks, mighty Reddit god. Nah but... Due to the Reddit community and their enthusiasm they can start new hypes etc. I don't say minecraft is popular because of Reddit, but I am sure a lot of my playtime came from the motivation of other redditors.

 

A friend introduced me to minecraft. He was a little addicted to the game and wouldn't shut up about it. He keeps telling me how awesome it was and how unique it was from all other RPG/MMORPG games that we always play. So i checked it out myself, instantly fell inlove with the game and as what they say, the rest is history.

 

This was way back in the day, when Minecraft was new. 4chan's /v/ board was going apeshit over it, so I bought it and set up an account to see what it was all about. There was so little to do back then. It was literally just a building simulator back then. No PvP, only building, mining and a few mobs.

 

A good friend of mine introduced me to Minecraft a couple of years ago. Its kind of a shame I immediately installed an inventory changing mod that gave me unlimited diamond blocks. And so my first house was made out of diamond blocks!

 

That was what put me off of Minecraft originally. I had to work a ton to get a limited amount of diamonds etc, yet I could just use a mod to get as much as I wanted. It kind of felt like it made everything pointless.

 

My brother bought a minecraft account and I used it for singleplayer, but I never wanted to get my own account until I found about the perfect roleplaying server. I was roleplaying on LOTRO at the time and the Minecraft roleplaying server seemed like a much better awesome. And Minecraft is so much more fun multiplayer anyway, it was the best 22 bucks (give or take a few dollars) I've ever spent.

 

When Minecraft was in its Alpha stage, a friend of mine discovered it, and asked if I knew anything about it. I told him that I didn't, so he decided to look into it himself. A few days later, I decided to check out the game as well, so I sent him a text asking where I could get the game. He told me that the game was only $10, so I bought it to give it a try. When I first started, I didn't know how to play. I asked him how, and he told me to look at SeaNanners. After watching a few series by SeaNanners, I decided that it was finally my turn to try. So, I went back on Minecraft and explored the Alpha stage!

 

Back in 2012, I saw my cousin playing this and I thought that this game is lame and I ignored it. And now, this year I watched SeaNanners playing Minecraft which was uploaded years ago and I got hooked up. It was pretty amazing game. I'm an idiot for ignoring this game for 2 years.

 

Honestly, it was my two really young nieces who played the game and kept asking me to play with them. I didn't really know to much about it, I had heard of it but hadn't seen any kind of gameplay, so I looked it up on Youtube and started watching iHasCupquake's Oasis series and instantly fell in love with the game. I mean, of course she had mods which I later introduced myself to, but either way, I liked the way it looked, it was different and a way to be creative. Ever since then, I've played Minecraft!

 

Actually my cousins introduced me to Minecraft. They had already played it quite long when I got interested of it. Ever since then I have been playing Minecraft almost on a daily basis.

 

My friends at school One of them let me borrow their copy for a while, then I got way too addicted to it and ended up buying the game myself.

 

Either way, I'm much better at the game now than I was back then and there weren't really minigames server back then, bukkit wasn't really a thing yet and plugins weren't so well known.

 

My friends played it all the time and they wanted me to try. I went over to a friend's and tried it out, thought it was pretty cool that you could build whatever you wanted. So I went home and got it myself so I could play with them.

 

Seeing a lot of youtube videos introduced me into the game. I didn't know what the game was even though I bought it though, until I realized the youtuber I saw playing it was using mods and I facepalmed myself.

 

I got it of another block game called roblox. It sounded so good! I bought it within a week and loved it instantly!

 

Achievement Hunter introduced me to Minecraft like 130 weekly Let's Play episodes ago. -_-
