I discovered the game back in 1.8 Beta, after watching a man named Syndicate upload Youtube videos. I thought the game was the coolest thing I had ever seen, and had to buy it immediately! Bought it in 1.8 but really started putting hours in it in 1.0

I was introduced by randomly stumbling upon a minecraft gaming video on day on youtube. I found the game really interesting and it definitely helped that the commentator was funny.

I saw a video on YouTube about people that owned servers playing pranks on players in Minecraft. The idea looked so hilarious that I had to get the game and my own server to mirror that image. I only had the server for a couple of years, but I had a lot of fun either randomly trolling people of helping them out while confusing them at the same time by leaving signs that had random gibberish on it:D

I was introduced to Minecraft from Achievement Hunter's Let's Plays. I had obviously heard of the game before, but I had never actually seen anyone seriously play it. Now, I own it on three different platforms and I play it pretty regularly.

A friend did when it was super new and on sale. There was no nether, no ender, no fortresses or anything, a very barebone game at the time but it was still fun.

My bro introduced me to the Xbox 360 version a while back, and I often alternate between the PC and 360 versions these days. The PC version obviously has more content, but I really enjoy using the 360 controller.

I hear about it from Youtube, CaptainSparkles was who I first watched and I loved his series. It looked so magical when I saw it, I actually first watched episode 18 or around that where he went into the nether through a portal. At that point in time it blew my mind about how much you could do in this game and I was hooked from that point on.

My friend kept pushing me to buy it. He got it very early on the alpha stage and told me how awesome this game is.

My kids introduced me. They wanted it for the xbox, and so I got it for them for Christmas. I was happy to just watch, since it didn't seem to be my sort of game. They finally begged enough that I caved in and played with them. I don't play as often as they do, but I still don't mind it when I have the time.

I was following a few other games' development blogs years ago and most of the devs admitted to flaking off half the time cause they were addicted to Minecraft. I naturally got curious and bought it and totally could see why they were flaking off haha.

I stumbled onto the website by mistake and saw a livestream being done by Notch, I was instantly intrigued but let go of the game rather quickly. Then I started hearing people use the term mine-crack alot and I jumped on board again.. haven't gotten off since. Mine-crack indeed.

I was actually introduced to the game by my younger brother. At first I really didn't understand the game, the first thing I did was dig a hole straight down and it got too dark and I didn't know how to get out. (Haha!) It ended up turning to night time and I gave up on the game. After a while and coming across my brother actually playing I downloaded it again and learned more of the basic functions of the game. I've been playing since Beta around 2009 or 2010? I frequently play about every week to this day!

Can't remember. Was definetely a combination of UberHaxorNova's hysterical minecraft videos and a buddy of mine who was a fan of both him and the game.

I'm pretty sure it was after watching some upperclassmen in college play it on break back in the beta days. I then got a copy of the game and joined them on a hamachi server. Ah good times, good times.

I got interested in Minecraft when it was in beta. My friends all had Minecraft and so did almost everyone at my school. All people would talk about is what they did in Minecraft and good servers to go on. Then I played for a long time but I eventually got burned out after owning a server but I still play Minecraft and many modpacks from time to time because it can still give me some enjoyment.

I was introduced to Minecraft much on my own accord. I found out about it three years ago at school. I watched some students play it together on their own computer and I was amazed. That game seemed to be fun. I went home and got a demo copy of the game and started messing around. Soon enough, I began to gain experience, and soon enough, got the full game. I started my own world, installed some mods, and even played online on some servers. Real fun!
