I meant only that I have problems understanding what you're saying. I never said that you're black and smoke weed, Greywolf.
My reason for saying that I don't understand what you're saying, is not to make you seem unintelligent, but to make me unintelligent, 'cause I'm not smart enough to understand.. :p

I agree with the OP in this thread, all american games feature either communists, middle-easterners or easter europeans as the enemies in their games. But ukrainian and russian games they arent specific on their enemies.

    Example:

american action hero briefing: "We are looking for Sergei Vladimir el Stereotype and he is a convicted war criminal.

ukrainian or russian action hero briefing: "We are looking for a convicted war criminal."

See the difference? But like somebody else pointed out america still hasnt moved out of its cold war phase. A good example was when people were wondering if Obama was a communist, or in my country you read on messageboards "effen commie" used as a degrading term. But when asked what a communist is they replied "uhhm, russians?"

Different strokes for different folks, though I must say those who don't think Metro's atmosphere was amazing are mental :D

Yep, people can't really tell the difference between Communism and the countries in which Communism ruled. My classmate said something about how bad Mao Tse Tung was, and some one else said "Racist". Communism is a race? Ha ha! I dunno...

I will write my opinion so some of you might not agree

Why some people do not like metro (I also do like that in metro, but I still love metro) is weak enemy soldier's (not mutants) IA. some bugs also were in metro 2033 but it is in every game....

I do not think sb is interested why IGN wrote to this game 6.9 (IGN UK wrote 7.5) but people believe their reviews. I like their some reviews but I disagree with metro 2033. Yes metro had and has some gameplay problems but atmosphere is so awesome that I have finished this game more than 6 times (3 times for each ending) and after finishing playing this game I am sure reviewer did not know that there was second ending to... I mean he just played finished and wrote it is bad.

Also idiots do not like metro.

My mum, ant and etc. did not like metro and do not like because they like other kind of books (they do not play computer games). But for me Metro 2033 is the best book ever!

I was initially frustrated because I had a hard time navigating Front Lines, plus stealth is perhaps too finicky and unforgiving if you make even the slightest mistake whatsoever. (>Miss throwing knife >Everyone knows exactly where you are >FFFFUUUU) But now I love it!

And as for Russians in games, I've never really cared or noticed; they're just an easy, somewhat plausible military threat that has a large supply of soldiers, nukes, and is a hotbed for conspiracies still left from the Cold War. I really don't care that much, and will shoot just about anything you throw at me, as long as it's hostile.

Most complain that Metro is some kind of rip-off of a post-apocalyptic game that they like, without knowing the origin, story or gameplay of Metro. If they fall under this they can't be helped (prejudice) otherwise it might not be his/her thing ^^

One reason quite a few PC gamers avoid it is because it's notorious for resource-hogging. While it looks great, it uses a lot of Vram; something which ultimately hurt Crysis back in 2007.

The weird thing is, enabling vsync in the config files doesn't lock your framerate, and instead makes the game use about 500mb less Vram on max settings :s

Unfortunately this is true, I saw a coment on youtube where he said that metro was a complete ripoff of fallout, even when another guy described the difference in the stories he STILL clamed it was a ripoff.
I wanted to bash my head on the wall by the ignorance and pray he's trolling.

As an American who watched Rambo 1 15 times, Rambo 2 26 times, Rambo 3 23 times, and on and on and on.... My opinion is the Call of Duty devs and other devs use Russians simply because were so used to it, we like the Russian uniforms, the Hind helicopters and other weapons. (The su-27 Flanker is probably my favorite aircraft ) When you make a realistic game, you have to have bad guys. In story writing, they call this the "antagonist". Russians are used, i think, simply because people like them and are so used to them, plus if you want a big opponent with a lot of resources, you don't have that many options.

Having said that, there are some issues i have with some game content. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 pissed me off with its constant stream of bullshit quotes during the briefings. Some of the messages were absolutely nuts. Thinking about young kids who don't know any better and just the adults making the game are speaking the truth makes me cringe. (Speaking of that game, i did not shoot a single bullet in the "no Russian" mission until we got outside, and i died many times trying to kill the terrorists :) )

The reason some people dont like metro is the same reason some dont like cake(or pie) or tea(or coffe).

Some people said they are not used to Russia's capital city and ended up hating it. But, I pointed out that I am also not used to it and I said they should keep playing. I ended up loving Metro 2033. :)

yeah, it's true that people have it's tastes, but it's true that some people, some little people, speccialy americans, don't like this game becouse of the russians (fcking idiots), what can i say, people have it's tastes, some don't like russians and some others do. Anyways in MW games, russians ain't bad, just one, Makarov, exept at MW1, that's zakaev, anyways, at MW1, zakaev took some revolutionary russians to destroy america, but russians are good, they help you, and in MW2, Makarov attacks a Russian Airport dressed like a CIA member, so russia declares war to USA, and in MW2, AMERICANS ARE BAD!!!! well, just at the end, when Shepard attacks you, so you must kill americans to kill him. And in MW3, russians declare war to everyone, cuz Makarov kiddnaps the russian president and makes himself a dictator, so you must stop russians and then kill makarov, and then everything is nice again, so russians ain't so bad as allways (as they allways say), an at call of duty world at war, you use russians, and it's the best part of the game (exept killing banzai japaneses whit glasses!!!)

Well as being lithuanian and knowing that how most of this country population hates Russia or Poland makes me sad. For myself im tolerant guy and i never said any bad word agaist other nations people etc. It is only of the stupid Gov we are in this *hate Russia for what it did to us long time ago* rather than trying to make frendly relationship with it and thanks to that the fuel here cost 5Lt/L it is about 1.5 EUR because we buy all our fuel from Russia (Gasprom), lol. In video games i really dont really care at what i shoot, i see that a lot of people here are kinda sensitive, well you must not forget that we are talking about video games and yes MW2 was very stupid that way i didnt played any other Cod ever since. Btw in that "No Russian" mission i slaughtered half the airport, but as i said i dont give a damm f at what i kill in a video game, if it was Vilnius ( my capital) airport i dont give a sh@t to, because you need to be easy-ofended person to take this americans games serously

Well, I think most people like CoD types of FPS,and Metro 2033 is waaaay different kind of game.I think Metro is better than any other FPS game, because of its outstanding storyline, atmosphere, and soundtrack....That is the main reason why some people don't like Metro.:D
