All that stuff is so nicely made. :D

Hmm, yeah, I guess that makes more sense. :p I found Roche similar to Garrus from Mass Effect... they are totally different, but similar in the way that I like their personality but dislike their views. They're like that one good friend who is at the same time a racist right-winger.

I can't tell if you meant to show that bloodborne has better hair animation than the witcher, but anyway:
I first assumed the hair might have acted like that because the player was using an electrical-type sword. Anyway, I searched the image and up came a video. I Turned up the brightness to see the video better and saw that it didn't look...Well, I thought it looked as if the monster's hair was made out of gray toilet paper :p.

Yup, the Bloodborne hair physics are a bit wonky is what I'm saying. The electricity had nothing to do with it. It's an interesting effect, but some bosses have a lot of dynamic cloth/hair objects and they look hilariously weird sometimes during their attacks.

It does look much less realistic in Blooborne, but I gotta say that it sort of fits the weird fiction setting of the game - at least on that GIF.

I was pretty excited about this game for a while because of the medieval-factor, but then I saw a trailer that really turned it all on its head.
I think that a strictly non-fantasy medieval game would be boring, so I'm alright with the monsters, 'cause it adds that extra action. I'm alright with all the bird-creatures, the massive reindeer-like monsters and a lot of other monsters, but some of the monsters just really don't make it okay.

Like these kind of guys:

And what is this?

And these guys???
With bloody baby-legs coming out of their stomachs and looks like three massive penises? Where is the sense in all of this??

Just like Skyrim, they just couldn't lay off the demonism. All the spooky triple-toned voices of spirits and mystical mutants with personalities. That's kind of where it just cuts it for me. There was way too much of it in Skyrim. Every time I'd meet anything from a Spriggan to a Daedra to a god in Skyrim, the immersion would just be thrown out of my head, and I'd just think "Oh, f*** this, do I really have to do another one of these stupid Daedra missions, and go down into some boring dungeon?". And I'm kind of expecting the same from The Witcher.

But then I saw a trailer on Steam just now, explaining how there'll be so much more than just fighting, and the story. Different clothing and armor, different weapons, skills levels, crafting of potions, weapons and the like, a lot of interference with the open-world's NPCs, and even roleplay, like in Skyrim. It does look awesome and I really want this to be yet another one of those enjoyable medieval-games, but I have mixed feelings about getting it because I know there is absolutely no possibility to completely avoid all those things I really dislike about the game. They're even in the main story, if I'm correct.

I'm busy with GTA V anyway, but when I've finished that, I might just get The Witcher 3. That, or Dead Space 3 :D

Well then whatever you do, stay the hell away from Bloodborne.

Also, probably Dead Space too in general.

12. Fun fact, alien babies in Dead Space 3 have birth tags too.

Exactly! Point proven.

I really wanna get it, but I'll probably never grow the balls to play it.

Strangely enough, I had completely forgotten that Dead Space 1 existed, even though I've been watching the Dead Space 3 play through that Komodo and you, Potarto, have been doing. It wasn't until last night, when I was reading a PC Game magazine, and they did a brief article on the first game that I realized that Dead Space 1 was a game that had been on my list to get since it came out.
-----------------------------------------
To Witcher 3:
Also, in the PC Gamer magazine, they talked about some brief campaign gameplay. And though, I don't like spoilers, for some reason, I'd rather read the spoiler than visually see a video of the playthrough. Anyway, they mentioned this quest (spoiler ahead)
and it was where a bear had somehow sneaked into the dining hall of this castle and slaughtered most of the people in there. Geralt comes to the rescue and then is sent to find the source of where the bear came from/ find and kill all the other bears (if he chooses to, of course). Geralt eventually stumbles upon this cave where he see this ceremony where some type of voodoo priest is transforming bears into half-man half-bear creatures (which will later be used to kill more people if the priest guy isn't stopped).
I don't know, something like that seems similar to the kind of stuff that didn't really grab your interest, Skaara; but at least in can be avoided to some degree. And though, I've never played an fantasy/medieval game (except Gauntlet on the N64) it's something that, for me, is expected of a game of the genre because most medieval stuff has some type of lore where magic is involved/hellish-creatures.

Well, if you don't like too much fantasy in your fantasy, then you won't like the Witcher games. :p They are filled to the brim with mythological creatures and magic, much of it ripped straight from Slavic folklore (leshy - that's the creature with antlers that you pointed out, poludnitsa midday demon, vodyanoy water spirit, and so on). The previous games were full of it and this next one is too, as they take place in a fantasy world that was already carefully created by an author through 7 books published before any of the games.

However, the more realistic aspects of the series can be seen through the behaviour of characters (I'm talking about dialogue rather than AI here), actual consequences to many of the player's choices as opposed to illusion and lots of political intrigue between many of the medieval/early modern period inspired kingdoms featured in the Witcher world. You may be drawn to those aspects, as they are immensely more fleshed out, engrossing and less artificial there than in games like Skyrim. Still, fate and sorcery have always played an extremely important part in the plot of the saga, so if you really don't like them then I doubt you will enjoy the story content as much regardless of how well it's written. I absolutely love it personally, so I'm just being honest.

I see, thanks for the heads up. I guess I could like it, but to do that I would have to set my thoughts to expect and accept the fantasy in the game, and enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed, but I don't see that happening :p

As you know, the game has been released now. Not long before this CD Projekt made us a launch trailer:

First of all, Aaron you are a lucky bastard. :D I pre-ordered and pre-loaded the game earlier anyway and it was a great deal with the loyalty discount and all the other bonuses you get with the GOG version, but getting it for free is awesome. Plus you've already played it. :p

For those of us who were worried about the large HDD space requirements, I have good news. The fully updated and ready-to-play game takes up about 25 GB on my PC, which is a fair bit less than the 40 GB official requirement and much less than GTA V's humongous 65 GB. This is really impressive for a huge open world with practically no loading screens. However, if you don't want to play in English and choose to download the language packs, that's a few extra gigs per option (understandable, considering how much dialogue there is) - though thankfully you don't have to download all languages, you can just pick the one you wanna play in. On top of that, with the upcoming free DLC and paid expansions scheduled for much later down the line, I'm sure this could easily grow up to 40 GB or beyond with time.

Unfortunately, since my exams are spaced out in a really shitty way (starting on the 8th of June and finishing by the 18th of the same month), I can't touch the game for another month... it's just going to sit there, installed and updated... full 30 fucking days... I think a part of me just died inside. But this is how it's gotta be, because if I start playing before or during this period, I simply won't pass. All I can tell you right now is that the main menu is nice and sleek, there are plenty of graphics options available but sadly no benchmarking tool that I know of. The menu theme reminds me of previous Witcher games and the Gothic games, though a small part of it also reminds me of the first Mafia game.

From now on, since the game has finally been unlocked, I would appreciate it if you could keep all story-related posts in spoilers. :)
