I don't think I know of anybody who was really pleasantly surprised by the news. The genre of fantasy MOBA's is already pretty choked, I can't imagine this really working out well for them.

On a more positive note, here is AngryJoe's interview with two guys from CD Projekt. It was posted about a week ago, but I only got a chance to watch it today. It's very nice, relaxed and down to earth just like the interview Joe did a year or two back with other people from CD Projekt. There's also a bit of new info in there, but mostly stuff that's already been confirmed if you have been following the news regarding W3 closely.

Another bit of good news is that the price difference for the W3 pre-order on GOG.com has been reduced in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. If you bought the game in one of these regions before the change, the difference will be refunded, via the method of payment you used. CD Projekt and GOG have always encountered trouble with providing fair prices for these countries and it looks like their efforts are finally paying off.

3. Can confirm, the preorder is currently $18.35 in CIS:

As opposed to Europe, for example:

Coming to countries that have third world salaries with first world prices is a really shitty idea. But these guys and Valve get it.

Yeah, I think now the CIS countries have a better deal on W3 than Poland. :p

Shorter than the E3 demo they've shown, but I haven't seen this part before.

What do you mean? To me some of the screenshots and gameplay do look like a prettier version of TES V, yet this clip just screams W1 to me - the grimmer atmosphere, the swamp setting, that strange feeling all around. W2 was great, but it lacked some of the things that made W1 so great. W3 looks like a perfect mix of both of them so far, but the open world aspect reminds me much more of Gothic than Skyrim from what I've seen so far in general. Whereas Skyrim, although I like it overall and it had some outstanding moments, it always feels much more like a coldly calculated synthetic world with everything placed in a specific way - making it like a theme park. Gothic 3 was a much more natural world and some of the things we've been shown from W3 just keep reminding me of that. Although I want lots of stuff do to in W3, I hope the content will be nicely spread out and there will be plenty of distance between quests.

Yeah, they are pretty huge. However, that shouldn't be a problem in the actual game since there will be plenty of different stuff for Geralt to wear... and seeing as how the armour CD Projekt used for promoting W2 was good only for the first few parts of the game (stats-wise), this one will probably stop being useful even sooner considering W3's open world.

13. You said it:
That and two more years of graphical advancements on top of not having to release on PS3/Xbox360.

Two new videos were published while I was on holiday:

(promotional video akin to an earlier one filmed in Scotland, though this one has one or two new slices of gameplay)

(new gameplay footage, some scenes might be familiar from the swamp areas we've seen before)

Huge new gameplay video of W3 from CD Projekt (over half an hour long). I've only watched a short fragment of it as I don't want too many spoilers and I'd rather have some of that wonder preserved for when I play the game, but I'm still posting this for everyone else. Enjoy! :)

17. Is it just me or does it lag a bit every few seconds in a highly populated areas?

Yep, it does (I've noticed this even in non-highly populated areas in other gameplay videos) and there's some pop-in. This is expected since the game is not finished yet and still half a year away from release, though it is also somewhat reassuring considering all the fake (or "enhanced") footage we've been shown by numerous other game devs lately. Of course, I hope most of these issues will be gone by the time of release, though knowing CD Projekt there will probably be a noticeable number of small not-game-breaking issues that will be fixed sometime after release. Unless the delayed release date for W3 will take care of the usual problems that plagued the previous two Witcher releases.
