Will you play as yourself or roleplay as another character?

One thing I've found really cool while playing Fallout 4 is that for the very first time in the series (or at least I think it is) you can change appearance for your character after the introductory section. There's a surgeon that will reconstruct your face however you want. So, are you one of those people that don't like their character's faces anymore after hours of play? Worry not, because Bethesda actually thought of that. I won't say where he is, because I don't want to spoil it for you, just know that he's there somewhere and you shouldn't regret how you've done your character. :D

I've written this because when I made my character there were some things that I wanted to change and I'm glad you can actually change them during your playthrough.

This was also included in one of the DLCs for Skyrim. I'm happy to hear they added it to the main game.

My thoughts so far: First, the hair options are much better than I expected. XD I'm not screaming for a hair mod right off the start. Second, the detail of customization was amazing. I spent 2 hours getting my character and her husband the way I wanted them to look. I'm having fun correlating ethics and factions. Still not sure which faction I want to get tangled in.

Yep, that's the standard customization time. I love that about RPGs, most of the players spent their first couple of hours customizing their face and the way they look and then they play from first person point of view. Even in the third person, you can't see your face. I became aware of this when I played Skyrim and literally the first opportunity I got, I put on that sweet helmet that covered most of my face.

@legoman I do it for every RPG that allows it. I tend to be less enthusiastic when a character is created for me. It doesn't feel like my character anymore. I actually play in 3rd person and I see my character's face every so often.

You see your characters face every time you talk to someone.

Oh of course, I hate the preset faces. Even though I don't actually get to enjoy that face for that long, that's still a fun aspect to me. I like to add scars and then add little stories how my character got those scars and other role-playing stuff like that.

I usually play as myself. I don't modify my character too much usually other than changing a few colors and giving myself a different hair. I play as a nice guy, I help out everybody I see.
