It will probably go the way of the Halo movie. There was a ton of demand for that too (far more than a WoW movie at least) but it never took off the ground despite having a full production cast put together.

Producers aren't really willing to give video game movies a chance because they have a notorious history of either being terrible or tanking in the box office.

I don't think a WoW movie will come out any time soon.

I'm really excited about the movie and it's impact on world of warcraft in the media. They've always seemed to demonize wow. Some justified, some not. It'd be nice to have a new fresh of air in the world of warcraft franchise.

Already heard rumors about it, but never thought they would really make it. Let's see what comes out, if they make it as accurate as possible, the film will be good because the wow story is awesome!

The World of Warcraft lore is one of the most elaborate stories I've ever read. I would love to see it as a movie and I'm very excited for the day it will be lauched.

This is what I was thinking. Wasn't it supposed to be out around a year ago?

I hope they do this. It might be cool as a live-action film but I'd much rather see a 2 hour Blizz cinematic.

I think Blizzard really missed the boat with the Warcraft movie. It should have been released during Wrath when WoW's subscription numbers were at an all time high. Since then, they've lost a ton of subscribers and I think most people have really lost interest in Warcraft. Another dissapointing thing about the movie is that Blizzard isn't using it's own CGI team to animate the entire thing.

Are they still planning on doing this movie? I haven't seen anything about it on the internet. I remember reading something about it a few years ago but I would've thought they had it finished by now.

In the case a movie does actually come out for WoW, I'm more worried that it will turn into another cheesy over hyped flop that everyone ends up disappointed in after watching it once. However, should they manage to make this movie both memorable and high quality, then they'll probably end up with a sequel less than five years later that won't live up to the previous movie's expectations.

I am extremely leery about the wow movie. By the looks of it, they are gonna have such an epic scale, it could explode on the launch pad. If it even goes live to the public, then I think it will either be a masterpiece or a flop. Blizzard is really taking a huge chance with it. It will either make them, or break them, no matter how big of a titan company they are. Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst

I'm SO excited. This is one of those where I truly believe there is the capacity to have a great film - I don't think blizzard is going to gvie its flagship property over to anything less than great.

I hate the adaptions to be honest. They always wind up sucking bad. That's why I tend to avoid them. Having said that, I am really looking forward to see what WoW has to offer.

Exactly my point. Typically adaptions suck , but I am still hoping it is going to be good. I really hope to see a balance druid :D. Someone going moonkin form. That would be sweet. I just hope they keep true to the game, Rogues being invisible, polymorph, ect.

I am so hyped for this movie! I can't wait for it to hit the cinemas in Romania so my friends who play WoW and I will be able to go and watch it.

Wait, this is coming to european countries too, right? I mean it will be a huge blockbuster, won't it?

Yeah, I also hope that they won't derail this movie and adventure too far off from the WoW lore. That would just ruin it for me.

Sigh. A movie wouldn't exactly improve the WoW brand at this point.

It all depends really and how the fans take the movie. Some may not even watch the movie because if they watch it, it'll just ruin the way they see WoW. To me, I want to watch it after I read reviews first and analyze if its worth watching.

I am just wondering how are they going to make a movie for WoW? Will they go for the storyline or the lore? If they are doing it like with the lore the costumes will be sick as hell!!!! But if it is like a documentary on people who play it I think it might be boring as heck but you never know it might be crazy. But really how are they going to make the movie?

There's already a WoW documentary which is pretty interesting to watch. It shows the positive side to playing WoW. As for the film...from my understanding it's going to be in CGI rather than live action and will cover the start of the human/orc conflict. It seems that they're gonna stick to lore, which is nice but at the same time might be confusing to those who never been into the franchise. I'm interested on seeing how they're going to try and capture both the fans and a new audience who knows nothing about the lore...

Yeah, I'm just as excited as the next guy, but I just hope it doesn't turn out like the terrible Mortal Kombat and Mario movies. Hollywood seems to only make movies based off games because they're popular. You don't see movies for Bioshock (story), or Elder Scrolls (epic lore), or Zelda (Kid friendly), because not everyone knows about them.
