I believe such a MMORPG Zombie game, would only be great, if players can choose to be a living human or a zombie humanoid.

    1. It should bet set on a fairly large island [any island with lots of natural environments to explore is my preference e.g. tropical, jungle, mountainous, forested, etc.], with a once thriving city.
    2. From start, the island will be open to all players to explore, because NPCs will be guarding main centers for either living and dead.
    3. There should be four character types, each with it's own modifications; local, military, zombies and insane zombies!
    4. The objective, is to exterminate, contain, or infect, which is dependent on one's choice of character.
    5. Environmental changes: occurs after mass engagements between humans and zombies, which will cause little to big changes in terrain, structures, and morale; shall be preprogrammed changes [not random] to benefit the winning team.
That's my short idea, but I'm no game developer; although, do add or change whatever I wrote here to fit your beliefs and ideas.

I bought State of Decay. On the surface, it looked promising, but the controls were very stiff. If the developers are going to make an MMO version of SoD, I think it can do quite well. However, I wonder if it will be free to play, pay to play or something in between and if it's something in between, how would it work?

Although I played SoD for a bit, the cumbersome movement turned me off and haven't played it for months now. Fluidity is important to me.

H1Z1, Day Z, but I don't think they're really MMORPG's but you get the idea. Besides, zombie games are getting a bit over saturated now. I wouldn't play an MMORPG zombie game if there is one because, well what else can it offer?

There are a handful of MMORPGs and MMO-FPS games that involve zombies available on PC, mostly through Steam. They're mostly good games.

Day Z, Apocalypse Z, "anything else" Z. Haha. If you look around, plenty of these style of games are in production. Many from smaller companies so were stuck playing betas for 2 or 3 years. Sadly this is offputting to many of your typical, trendy "gamers". So who knows if well ever get a zombie mmorpg to actually have a launch day with 10s or 100s of thousands of people running out to grab it and jump into a massive community.
For now, we grit our teeth and wait for it... because once any of these games is perfected and stands unrivaled, ITS ON!! lol

That would be awesome if this become real. And also I have played State of Decay and it's awesome but I got bored eventually.
